Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

hi im very worried,

the other night i ended up going home with a 37 year old woman and was going to have sex with her but could not get an erection as i was very drunk, anyway i fingered the woman and she masturbated me, what i am most worried about is that i also went down on the woman,i got home about an hr and a half later and felt sick so i brushed my teeth  and drank water to try and get ridf of the taste of the woman.
I had a red mark on my lip also it was quite small like a little nick which i only noticed the next day, also around 12 hrs later i shaved and cut my face around the mouth area,

could you please answer my qus

1) is there a chance i could be infected by going down on the woman
2) would brushing my teeth afterwards put me at greater risk?
2) would the nick on  my lip put me at greater risk
3) would the hiv be able to survive on face for the 12 hrs up till when i cut myself, if not how long does hiv survive outside the body as i cannot find any info on this

Darius,

1. No there is absolutely no chance you can contract HIV as a result of going down on a woman.
2. No brushing your teeth will not increase the risk of contracting HIV under any circumstance.
3. No the nick on your lip will not increase the risk of you contracting HIV.
4. HIV cannot survive outside of the body for an appreciable length of time.

The reality is that this sexual experience has not placed you in any danger of contracting HIV. Please read our Welcome Thread to learn more about how HIV is and is not transmitted.

Darius, I agree with Matty's comments about the non-risk for HIV in this incident. As far as going down on someone is cnocerned it is essentially in the theoretical risk category. Could it happen? Yes, theoretically. Does it happen? In the real world of HIV there are no documented cases of transmission from going down on a woman.

However, there is one red flag that jumped out at me in your situation. Mixing excessive drinking and casual sex is a very dangerous combination. You need to stay awake to avoiding that kind of situation in the future. More people than I can count have become infected because they couldn't stay awake to safer sex precautions when drunk and had intercourse without using condoms.

Otherwise you're ok as far as HIV is concerned in this situation and there's no need for testing or for further concern on your part.

No. Rubbing your limp peeny against someone's pussy is not an HIV risk. Please take the time to read our Welcome Thread to learn how HIV is and is not transmitted.

Neither rubbing nor the other various forms of play with body parts that do NOT include penetation will  put you at risk for transmission.
