Arizona here,

Welcome to the Fora.

We have loads of members here from Florida, and as far as open-minded, you should have no problem in that department also.  If you feel like moving, Tucson has some exquisite Doctors, and open minded too.  ;)  Just get on I-10 and head west for a few days.  I will get you connected if need be.

Just Sayin. ;)

This doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals,
It's just that they need more supervision.

Hello Slick,

You need to try contacting an ASO in your area, they may be able to give you some information on Hiv specialists throughout the state.

Or try this site out :

http://www.211bigbend.org/hotlines/hiv/

They list a toll free number : 1-800-FLA-AIDS ( I am sure you will get some info there.

Let us know how you make out. Just curious, what kind of problems are you having with your doctor?

I'm in FTL, and drive to Miami for my doctor.  I wish I could help with info on places up north of here.

Hello Slick44, it is Eldon. I wish to extend to you a warm welcome to the forums where you will find love, understanding, encouragement, support, fun, and many answers to your questions relating to HIV/AIDS. This is a great group of individuals and there is a lot of information on this site.

I'm in Florida also. If you live in Daytona Beach, you may want to go to Dr. Gerald Pierone Jr., MD. He has a private practice in Vero Beach which is not to far from you. You can also check out his writeup on: http://www.thebody.com/bios/gpierone.html.

If not, check in Orlando. They have some good Doctors.

Have the BEST Day.

I have had this doctor for going on 14 years, he was so fun and upbeat when he was at the health dept, as soon as he got his own office, he completely changed, getting more cocky and arrogant every year.
I was under the assumption, that when you go to a doctors office you complain, you complain about ailments and pains that aren't normal
When asked "how I was feeling", i did just that, he said "You're a complainer", then a few minutes later said "it's all in your head"
Basically what he does is worry about your Tcell count and viral load, anything else you might as well keep your mouth shut about
I do have a primary care physician, but he's lost as far as hiv goes
Right now my back is hurting, I can't get anybody to send me for a bone scan, am I not supposed to talk about this pain, just let it go?
Well if I am supposed to just "live with it" that's not gonna happen, I am outspoken and won't just lay back and let my health and body deteriorate
I thought we were supposed to discuss things in an intelligent adult manner, nope, he knows all, we the people are idiots.
He also stated at one time, I shouldn't go to sites like these (aidsmeds and the body), most of the people, don't know what they are talking about.
And to put a laugh in here, he's also gay and thinks she is the greatest thing walking, BUT sadly that's a no, never found him attractive  LOL
Thanks for listening and thanks for the "WELCOMES", I'm not new here though, just read more than I post
And why are you all so cute in your avatars? i've gone from hunk to hag in the past year, norvir the "speed up the aging process drug"LOL
HUGZ to you all
Pat
