Hi guys

Your site has been a huge help to me over the last 6 months but I have finally given in and need some help/advice from you myself.

I am a bi sexual man in a relationship with a woman. I very stupidly cheated on her in a one off thing with a guy off a website. All I did was give him a blowjob and he rimmed me and then came on my face which I washed off straight away.

It seems that since then I have been getting quite a few weird things happening to me and it all just seems too much of a coincidence. I lost my appetite for 2-3 days pretty much straight after the event which is very unlike me, I had severe diahrea and night sweats too pretty much immediately.

I convinced myself to wait for the 3 month barrier before I got tested but I then developed quite bad oral thrush and this was all 2-3 weeks after the event. This led me to get in touch with the guy I had the 'moment' with and we both went and got tested together. He went in first and came out saying he was negative. I went in too and they also told me I was negative.

So that was a huge weight off my shoulders, however I still had in the back of my mind that it had only been 3 weeks so the results were not conclusive, but surely the fact he said his was negative too would mean they were?

So I tried to carry on with my life, but the night sweats continued, some very bad and I also developed some very itchy patches of skin which match follicutis symptoms which I have also heard can be a symptom of HIV.

I have suffered with penile psoriasis in the past but it seems to be coming a little more often now.

I have a strange rash on my face which I do believe was there before any of this but it certainly looks worse as of late. I'm not sure what it is but it looks like Rosecea or maybe Dermatitis. Both again which have been linked to HIV.

My back has ached very badly now for the last 2 months or so on and off.

But obviously after trying to live a normal life after testing negative after 3 weeks, this obviously involved sex with my girlfriend. She now has for the first time in her life got vaginal thrush and is finding it very hard to get rid of.

Then just last night I woke up on my own in a cold room absolutely covered in sweat. This has bought everything back and I am now very stressed out about this again.

I'd like some kind of advice, I know I should just go and get tested again but I am scared, very scared. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

You never had an exposure from oral sex or rimming.

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug users
Mother to child

It's a very worrying time and I know you guys probably hate people like me.

It's just nice to be reassured I guess, I keep telling myself 'You haven't got it, you tested etc....'

But it is so dam hard to ignore all of these dam symptoms.

Everything that pops up on either me or my girlfriend seems to be HIV related. After all the research I have done I think I just know too much about the illness!

Rod is right, you never had an exposure.  Also, if you really knew about HIV you would know that symptoms cannot determine your status, only testing.  It's why we do not go by symptoms, as many symptoms can be common among dozens of diseases.  If you are unable to overcome this fear of HIV, I suggest you seek some local counseling as we can only assist you in determining risk.

I hate to say it but Ive had almost the exact same experience you have. Which leads me to the question if I dont have HIV was the heck is wrong with my health and what did I catch. It would be great to talk with you sometime or email if you have any interest....
