Meds and exercise
« on: May 15, 2013, 07:57:26 pm »
I have been taking Reyataz, Epzicom and Norvir for a couple of years and had not noticed any side effects. Recently I hired a personal trainer who has been guiding me through Crossfit training, which is really intense. When I first started the training I experienced dizziness and feeling lightheaded and assumed it was due to being out of shape. As the training progressed I realized it didn't feel like normal fatigue. I had a complete physical before starting this program so I was pretty sure there was nothing seriously wrong with my heart, blood sugar, etc. but I couldn't figure out what was going on. I take my meds with breakfast but one morning woke up late and went to training before breakfast. No dizziness. My trainer even commented how improved I was that day. From experimenting I have discovered that I can't do strenuous exercise within 3 hours of taking my meds without the room spinning. I had never noticed this before because prior to this trainer I had always exercised in the afternoon.

So if you find yourself feeling off while exercising consider when you are taking your meds.

I always found Crossfit particularly heavy, I don`t think it has anything in relation with meds, I think the mental aspect had a lot of importance with the performances, also the way how you feel physically...  I take my meds in the night, I`ve never trained crossfit before my diagnozised but clearly all my life I had better performances in the afternoon than in the morning, meds have not changed anything, alimentation, stress and rest are some more important in my personnal opinion in regard to my performances...
