I just have quick question...
« on: August 14, 2007, 01:29:29 am »
Sorry for burdening you all with an extra question, I read the HIV Transmission Lesson and most things on this site, but I am still slightly paranoid and I would definitely like to get a good night sleep tonight...

I had a small gay hookup episode with a guy the other day (and yes, I was "smart" enough to hookup with someone that I don't know very well), and I have been having slight concerns about it. Practically these are what we did for an extended period of time:
- We kissed
- I received blow job
- I received rim job
- He fingered me

From the lessons on this site, it sounds like that I shouldn't be at risk and I shouldn't be concerned about it.
However, the problem is that what if the guy I hooked up with had some of his precum on his finger when he fingered me...
I was not completely sure about it whether or not there was precum because I wasn't paying attention while I had fun...

So my questions are:
1) Should I be concerned at all?
2) Should I go get tested at a later time (for this specific episode, I don't mean regular testing)?

My question might sound dumb, but I'd definitely appreciate an answer so that I can have some sleep tonight...

Thanks so much.

Freaking,

No, you don't have to be concerned about contracting HIV as a result of copping a blow job or having your bunghole munched and fingered by an eager chap. Since you've read our transmission lessons, you'll know that HIV is transmitted via unprotected anal and vaginal sex and from sharing contaminated injecting equipment such as needles and syringes.

You may rest well this evening, sir.

MtD,

Thanks for much for a quick response...
I'm crawling into my bed without hesitation now...

But just a follow up question (for future reference only, not that I will EVER attempt it at all, I learned my lesson the stressful way this time :-s ).
So even if an eager chap has quite a bit of precum lathered over his finger and fingering someone, there shouldn't be significant concern as well?

Thanks again sir.

No babe, there's no concern even if he does have precum on his wicked, probing fingers.

But you know, there's no reason that you should be afraid of having it off with men who may not be well known to you. Well at least not in terms of HIV. Provided you use latex condoms and water based lube when you have anal sex with these chaps there's no risk of HIV transmission. Blow jobs, fingering and pucker-eating are all non risk events for HIV transmission.

MtD,

Thanks so much -- you have no idea how much reassurance your last post has given me (cause every site on the net is like.. "you are most likely not at risk, but there is still some risk," which practically does not resolve my paranoia at all.)

Not that this will promote further promiscuity on my side, but I have always been very wary about getting infected from having anal sex with strangers even with sufficient (and often excessive) lubrication and latex condoms (which have always been subject to vigorous inspection before and after sex for breakage), and now presumably I could be less paranoid about having sex and hopefully be able to enjoy some sex without some guilt and paranoid afterwards.

I really appreciate it so much, MtD. This post concludes my questions / follow-up comments.

(who is realizing that he has been freaking out and scaring himself unnecessarily way or too long... and wants to bang his head on the wall now. *sigh*)
