A friend of mine passed away yesterday
« on: May 16, 2008, 12:08:45 am »
A friend of mine passed away yesterday after a 4 year battle with aids, he was in really rough shape for awhile  his cd4 were below 20 for quite some time. He had a rough family life and his family ignored him, but he always had a good heart, it was also sad to hear the doctor say that I was the only visitor to come see him in the hospital. I worked with him for a number of years and it was very sad to see what this virus was doing to him. I just feel i needed to get this off my chest, thanks for reading this.

Take care

I am really sorry for your lost... but the most important thing is that your friend knew he was not alone, not even in the last moments.. he knew he had someone who cared about him... you... and believe me.. that means a lot.

Big hugs,

Juan Carlos

Hello Wondering,

I am sorry you lost your friend. It may have been saddening to learn you were his only visitor. It still is true that quality, not quantity, is what's important even when being escorted to one's death. You gave him the best gift---genuine presence.

Wondering, I'm sending my condolences on the loss of your friend.  I echo what others here have said-it matters that you were there.  You made the transition a little easier for him.  Kudos to you for that.
  Luv,
Betty
