As abhorrent as all of this is I just find myself asking WHY anyone would do this?  What purpose does it serve?

It serves no purpose..it's a cowardly act against a group of beautiful sea creature's who were trying to protect their young, I just hope they catch whoever did this.

It's beyond disgusting.

IMHO the penalties are way to lenient "The penalties were up to $250,000 or imprisonment of up to six months".

6 months? I'm not abreast of the NZ judicial system but if anyone got 6 months in the states they could walk at some point after 2 months. The penalty for murdering a seal should be a minimum of 1 year for EACH seal, perhaps then people would think twice about this senseless crime against nature.

The people who did this are cowards and not man enough to pick on someone/something who could half way protect themselves. Bring your club swinging asses to Texas you cowards!

   There seems to be more and more of these senseless acts as of late.  I was on youtube the other day and saw some comments about a video called "3 guys and a hammer", the comments stirred my curiousity so I started searching away for the vid.  What I saw was one of the most brutal, senseless acts ever committed, it was absolutely terrible.   I can be cold and callous at times, but jeeez...... even the comments below the video made my heart sink.

After seeing the video of puppies being skinned alive then being tossed into a large pile of other puppies to eventually die, made me sorry to be a human. How low can we sink?

I rarely post anything anymore... but, this is very disturbing? Why would anyone be soooo cruel? and the story of puppies being skinned alive is horrible? I think the fines are not enough and hard core prison sentences should be implemented... not just 6 months but, years of hard labor!

The puppies were business as usual, they use the fur for dolls apparel.
They won't kill the puppy as it may damage the fur cut. Also they don't care about the pain they inflict.
Sad to say US saluter houses are about as bad.
When I have to kill a chicken, they never see it coming as I want them to suffer as little as possible.
