Good to be Back.
« on: October 06, 2008, 02:50:11 pm »
Well guys, I'm back, and there seems to have been a torrent under the bridge since we last talked.  I will leave the details for follow up posts in this thread, but suffice to say, I am in the best health I've been in over 15 years.  My CD4s are rising steadily, but gradually, but I have been non-detectible since March of this year, when I started my new drugs.

I am really busy restoring an old Toyota RV, and sewing again.  I have been asked to place a stock of my work in a gift shop in Bisbee, and am working to produce enough stuff to make it worth while.  Longislander, if you are still interested in my work, please PM me and I will send you shots of my new stuff.  I have six to choose from now.

Otherwise, I resigned from my Activism, but still occasionally work with the local High Schools with their Teen Health Fairs, which I did just last week.  Kids are the bomb and listen very carefully when they see it takes some of us 25 pills a day to survive this fight.  There are about five people working the southeast corner of Arizona now that are bringing the most value for the money I have ever seen with Ryan White, so it was time for the old fart to take a back seat and take care of homelife for a change.

Last month was my 25th anniversary with HIV, so there was an appropriate dinner out to the new Japanese restaurant that recently opened, and we both enjoyed ourselves trying to forget the last few years.  My sweetie and I are soon to celebrate our 21st anniversary, which will be a far more gratifying celebration, so I am looking forward to January.

Good to see the board is so active and I look forward to the dialogue which I have missed a bit.

Thanks Joe, it truly is a great day here, just checked and the temp at noon is a balmy 71F.  This is my favorite time of the year here in Southeast Arizona.  Lots of good days to ride the bike around the valley and check out all the fine sights (read cowboys) of Tombstone.

Long time, no see.  ;) Glad to see you back.  ;D

Lordy! That's what I was thinking when I turned 46 this past year! (though it would have been a much happier bday for me, if my partner hadn't been in the hospital that day, or passed away a month and a half later  :'( ) At this rate, I just might make it into my 60s lilke you have. :D When I think back to how close to death I was at 32, I'm just so surprised to keep getting older. ROFL

It's very good to hear the news about your health and that you're keeping busy. As always, I look forward to reading you around in the forums.

Best wishes and good health to you!

Well, I'm a little like Joel--except my skirts get in a bunch more than up and cannot recall the last time up so, hell, perhaps there's a correlation. Great to have you back and with such good health news for you. Happy upcoming anniversary. Em

  Tim,

Glad to hear that you are in good health and congrats on having a successful regimen that has allowed you to be undetectable.  I hope you post pics of the Toyota RV when you are finished with it.  I always wanted to do stuff like that.  Having three daughters that are 16, 6, and 1 I fear that I may never be able to do those type of things.

Did you ever get rid of that Lincoln Mark IV?  I think that's what it was you had...  All I really remember was she was a real beaut.

AWW Geee guys, you make an old fart blush....

Rab, glad to see you're still frequenting the forums, and hope to see you again sometime.  Lots to catch up on.

Leather, yes, we can make it to 60, but it is probably not going to be a cakewalk under any circumstances.  The best defense is of course staying busy and living life fully.  Love that fullness.  :)

Joel, thanks for all the e-mails I never respond to.  Shit, I need some discipline I suppose.......!

Em, I sure hope you are kicking ass as usual.  Glad to see you still doing it.

Good day Tom, and if that is you in the photo; great dreds!!!!

Jan, glad to see things reeeeeealy going well down under.  Your group really rocks!!!  I am back to the boots, and coming up with some really good designs.

David!  good to see you and the bike again, and now I am kicking it up a notch and restoring my own motorhome.  I get better mileage than you but the repairs are a bit steep these days.  I am doing the house portion now, and will post photos when I am done.  Rotten wood is really fun,,,, NOT!

Thanks for all the good wishes, one and all.

  Your group really rocks!!!

Thanks Tim, we are busy organizing a fashion show at the moment for World Aids day and have some great Kiwi designers on board already, they have to design a red dress , the dresses will then be autioned off at the end of the show and the money will go to the Aids foundation.

I told them if they have any granny dresses on show to give me a yell.. ;)

Damn, this is just like old home day.

Manchester, Sorry we were not able to meet in Las Vegas, but maybe next time.  Hopefully before they put me under, I'll make it to Manchester to party, since that city makes London look like the slums.  Oh I probably shouldn't have said that.

Wendy, glad to see you are still here and posting again.  Hope things are well with you.

Jerry, how are things with you?  I see you far less here than used to be, so I assume you are getting along a bit better than in the "old" days.  Love.

Emma, how the hell are you?  Good to see you in this thread also.

Mark, I'm on puzzle #350 in my book of a thousand.  I highly recommend you get one with loads of puzzles, and they are not all the easy ones, but after this long, most of them only take me about 15 minutes.  I wish I could find some like Little Steve sent from Austrailia with five overlapped, that was fun.  Gotta get up to see you next spring.

Miss Queen, I'm glad to be back too, so have a toke on me, and I'll have one for you.  How do you inhale while typing?  I need a good water pipe from Egypt, but they are far too pricey for me.  I'll stick with my protopipe.

Hey Jody, slow the fuck down!!!  Every time I think of you I remember racing after you to the CN Tower in Toronto.  I suppose being a New Yawker, you will be Mr. Speedy till you pass out.  :)

Michael, Yes, the car club was in Sebastapol for a day last month for a "Staycation".  Loads of fine machines showed up, according to the newsletter anyway.  Thanks and good to be back.

Well Aleks, will wonders never cease.  I had no idea if you still read the forums or not, haven't seen any of your posts for ages.  Hope you are doing fine over there, and things are a bit calmer than they were a few years ago.

Thanks all you guys.

Edited for a stupid mistake.

Daddy Tim,

I also first posted in your thread in "off topic," but I have to reiterate, it's sooooo incredibly good to have you back.  And hopefully I'll see you in AZ sometime over Christmas.  My sister says she's taking me to her foster daughter's family, who live on a Navajo reservation.  Should be interesting.

Thanks heaven you're back!

I'll see if I can source some of those overlapped sudoku for you and send them on. You're a very, very sick and twisted man though to find them 'fun'. It's not the first word that springs to mind or from my mouth when trying to do one.  ;D

I am only a week old to this site and have been reading various posts here and that includes all of you and Tim's as well, especially after I have read the topic on " Introduce yourself" which was a bit way back. That one has been truly inspiring. Felt a bit blue these few days but now all smiles again.

By the way, I think I seem to be the only straight asian female around! hahaha... ;D
For those of you who don't know me, I'm Angeline from Malaysia, 34 yr old. Diagnosed poz (CD4 178) on Dec 06 and started meds only 9 months after I came back from Chicago ( Sept 07). As of my recent bloodtest, my Cd 4 has gone up to 340 and VL has dropped from 20,000 to 40.  :)

Now that I have known so many of you fighting the same battle as me, it has given me even more reason to fight further and be strong. Been actively assisting in support groups and the local AIDS council here.

Days cant be any better!  ;)

Luv

Hi

I'm part of the new crowd that just found this place in the last year and wanted to say how happy I was to see you posting.  I read and benefited from a lot of your earlier posts when I first found this site; some of them really helped me think though and actually go about making changes to live with this.

Glad you are back.

Wow, go to sleep for a few hours and the thread grows.  I gotta tell you guys, this has really been humbling, and I am really glad I returned to this place.  You all have no idea how happy an old man can feel from just words.  Words and thoughts have power.

Ray, good to see you, and I hope things are going well with you and your PN.  Personally, mine is getting worse because of Norvir, but at this point I really don't care because the amount of energy I have is far more important than a bit more pain.

Betty, I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to your visit, and I hope it is warm enough to take a ride on the bike.  You'll love it.

Steve, I'll be waiting those challenging sodoku puzzles.  I hope things are well down under and you are still able to do those swim competitions.

Thom, How the hell are you and Thom?  I hope we get to see each other soon, you guys are really good together, and I miss your magnetic smiles.

Teresa, what can I say, it is really hard to keep up with everyone seperately, so this forum really fills a genuine need.

Joemutt, it is really good to be back.

Oz Paul, how are things down under, and how are you doing?

Ford, you'll make it a long time, because you take care of yourself.

Lis, I haven't forgotten the power point, but it needs some updating before I send it off.  Maybe I can get that done this week.  Blue monkeys rule!!!!!

Dragonette, how are things across the pond?

Edfu, Return I did, and it feels good.

Angel, I trust you made your introduction outside of this thread, we welcome you to the AIDSmeds family, and hope you are helped by the information you get here.

Iggy/Mark, how are you and your boyfriend doing?  Hope things are well with your family.

Assurbanipal, I am grateful that some of the shit I donated helped you with HIV.  That is one very good feeling.  Thanks for the welcome back.

Again, thanks guys.
