hi guys, thank again for the words. i am doing good. my next doc. visit is dec.20/ i went from weekely to now every three weeks in 2months.  :o well that does seem like they r chekin Up on me very well.but im alive.

did i tell u guys how it happened? ???  here we go. *live and learn*  this sep. i woke up in the middle of the night to go to bathroom. all mornign i had wht they call diareahh.  i had never had it before but i knew the symtoms. :o   three weeks later i still had this it. so of course i paniced and in denial i kept going to mexico to get meds.  (i live by the border, south texas) they kept giving me antibiodics. but after the 6th box of med's. i decided tht i would get tested. so on the day of my birthday i treated my self to a test at the local aids council.  after work i went by,nervouse and sacred. but deff. about finding out wht was wrong with my tummy. i had heard that was one of the symptoms. and some of my co-workers were noticing i was looking thinner. they were jealouse but i was puzzled. i didnt see the change in my body or at least didnt want to accept it.

(this story is getting real long. :-\  ok let me skip arround.)        so any ways, i had to go for my results 2weeks later. mean while im loosing wheight and dehidrating. how did i knw , well my mom worried took me to ER,and they had to put i.v. fluids and recommended drinking liquids and rest. i told them about the Diareahh-and the doctor gave me a weird look like *uve been bad, and go get cheked*  so any ways oct.5 i get my results and of course i was reactive. i wasnt as shocked more of a realif . because i knw that thats wht was causing my tummy issues. and i could finde a "cure".
even though it was arround the same time as the ecoli-scare of the contaminated spinach. i dont even eat spinach, nor veggies. but i was hopeing that some lettuc had gotten cross contaminated in a SubWay sandwich i had arround that time. i hink i would have preffered that than HIV.
jesus wont give us somethig we can't handle .  i read that somewhere and preach it so now i have to take it.

any ways.so i told my mommy. " i told u so" so i went to the doctor. told him i was reactive and we ammpped the meds. of course i almost accompanied my dad in heaven. due to having taken so long to get the help for wht was going on in me.  i was in hospital for one week at first. then went home for a week. then relapsed cuz i lost more whight, so went for another 10days. all in one month. early nov. i was out home. with weekely chekups. and prayer I came through.  i had lost tottal of 30lbs but now im only down like 7 yuppy!

ok this was too long right...? but people take care of urself , and love uRself. (i didnt at one poin)

luv javi

Now the second, when to tell your partner you are hiv poz?

Hey Pozgroup -

Am afraid I don't know the answer to your first question....yet but bet someone does or can be found on the web.  For the second question - check out this discussion here on Aidsmed.com - maybe you'll find an answer there.  It is a current topic too.

Hey, hon!

Tried to write back to you, but the mail wouldn't go through for some reason.  There's even a thread about it on here somewhere...in OT, I think.

Few things:
----  Nothing you smoke is technically "good" for you.  That said, I know of a good many people who have benfitted from using marijuana ocassionally for medicinal purposes.

----  The dog bites man thing migh be a risk for rabies, but not HIV.

----  I'll look into seeing what might be available for you in your area.  Hopefully, others from the S. Texas area can chime in also.
AIDS isn't for sissies.

I can answer question 3-A :D

HIV strains that are very close to each others have been grouped together in what we call HIV GROUPS and HIV GROUP SUBTYPES.

The M group (Major), regroups the most common forms of the virus. The subtypes of the M groups are A1, A2, B, C, D, F1, F2, G, H, J and K. I have HIV1-B, so I am in the Major group. Think of them as being children of the same parents, they are not the same but they have a very similar genome sequence.

Subtypes A are mostly found in Africa, B in Europe, Americas and Japan, C in India.

The N (New) and O (Outlier) groups that you may hear about contain very rare form of mutations, and have been found in West Africa.

HIV-2 is a very distant cousin of HIV-1, its sequence is very different, but it's called HIV because of its organization. SIV and FIV (Simian and Feline) are also cousins of HIV.

Within subtypes, there will still be other mutations. For example, my main virus is HIV1-B, but I have 20 minor mutations found in my blood. Those mutants are of no real concern they are badly replicated viruses and will either not function or will be too weak to cause harm.

I've attached a HIV map that should help you understand a bit better.

Milker.

i love the map. thanks for the reply about the dog. bite i guess the instructore was wrong.  please help me or send me a link to a site where i can find organizations in my area, (south texas). that can help me more with my hiv.

as for the question about the mapp. its seem self explanitory but if any one wants to advice me more.

i was asking about the many diff. strands or types of hiv.because= my doctor said if i keep having unprotected sex. i can contract a worst type of hiv and my meds might not work for that type of hiv and i can get more sick?

is that true? ???

Well first of all you shouldn't have unprotected sex unless you serosort.

If you are serosorting (unprotected sex with sure hiv positive people only), then the issue of "super infection" comes up, and most people on this forum have talked about it and the result is that there is no evidence of "super infection". I will let the serosorters answer.

So let's say you have HIV-B, the most common virus, with 20 mutants floating around and you get fucked unprotected by a person that has HIV1-B and 20 other mutants. That doesn't change anything, you just got a good fuck. If you travel to china and you get fucked and get HIV-1-C, it's still HIV-1. They are so close that I do not believe it's a major problem. However, this would have to be taken into account for the best meds. Experts may chime in on that one.

If you get fucked in West Africa and get HIV-2, which is extremely unlikely because HIV-2 is even more fragile than HIV-1, and hasn't been really seen in other places than Cameroon, then you would have to test for HIV-2.

If you get fucked by someone that has been extremely resistant to all meds, maybe that's a problem. Again, experts may give their opinions.

If you get fucked by someone that has been extremely resistant to all meds, maybe that's a problem.

Oh I see now why I can't ever get a date.

TheBody has a good fairly recent article about co-infection and re-infection (a term that is preferable to superinfection): Dual HIV Infection

There is one well documented case of reinfection with a drug-resistant, same-clade virus referenced in the article above.  Here is a complete text of this case report:
HIV drug resistance acquired through superinfection

wow guys.i have not been on here in such a long time. i guess i dont get notified if someone leavs a mssg. on here. lol. but it feels good to come back and read all of these replys. that u all have taken ur time to answer. makes me feel really cool. thanks again. i want to thank u guys.  so how r u guys doing? and as for me= im doing good actually. spiritually very well. my friends are still not at the level i wish they were but wht else lol.

i wanted to tell u guys about: some music, songs that have and are helping me feel better.feel yummy. help me think and view things in life differently. i just wanted to say guys are jerks. and we should love ourselfs. we shouln't have to need a guy, or drug, or material things. we should be happy withourselfs cuz at the end. we dotn take anything with us. we should take this time. now to love ourselves and our neighbor. any how my recomendations are.

Bon Jovi - You Want TO Make A Memory
Brandi Carliel- The Story
Chris Daughtry- Home
