4th generation Californian; born in Richmond, grew up in Sutter Creek & Volcano, and currently living in San Simeon and working at Hearst Castle for the state.

Great thread - we're all one community wherever we live.

I'm from Nottingham, UK, home of Robin Hood. By the way, we still have a Sheriff of Nottingham - but not quite the way you pictured - it's a lady Sheriff! She came to Nottingham Gay Pride a couple of weeks back and I had a drink with her in the pub afterwards!!

great to see folks from all over the world. i'm from schenectady, in upstate new york, about 2 hours north of NYC.

would like to say to rick21007 that i thought our adirondack mtns were the most scenic until i spent 5 days at black butte ranch over looking 3 sisters mtns. spectacular views and downright peaceful country.

milker, my son lives in san diego and is with the navy. made the treck there once to visit and found myself in the middle of those nasty fires a few years ago. he was living on imperial beach at the time and i loved coronado island. hope to visit him again this october before they ship his butt to afghanastan.

cindy, come see us at aidswatch in dc next year. we need your voice.........

This is my first post on here as far as I can remember. Been lurking for a while. I'm on the East Coast of the US in the Baltimore, Maryland area. Actually, I'm up North in an area called Baldwin which is near Bel Air for those that know the area. This is GREAT to see us everywhere.

this upcoming Nov will be the date marking half my life living in Charlotte, NC (1962-1985) and half my life living in Canton, OH (1985-2008).

(I actually lived two yrs in Pensacola FL while going to college, and two yrs in Cleveland OH when we first moved North; but it sounds better "half n half"

I was born and lived most of my 52 years (omg - am I really in my 50s?) in bonnie Scotland (which I miss every day - but not the weather), except for one year, when I was just a sweet young thing of 21, in Den Helder in the wonderful Netherlands and a total of three years here in Houston, TX. (Or really outside of the city in a very rural part, in which I love to tease the ladies at the luncheon club by startling them out of their botox by saying how much I love doing volunteer work with those with HIV/AIDS!!!) Can you hear the dropped forks and shattered china where you are? Am I wicked or what??

American in Thailand. Luckily I'm here where I can access treatment at a reasonable cost, unlike back home. I wonder if this issue will keep me from ever returning there permenently? Actually what I worry about more is the costs going up here, but would like to have the option of going home too.
