Thanks, Jerry.

A very simple, yet poignant thing to do.

You're a gem.  Sorry I didn't get to meet you in Sept.

Central Ohio

The Columbus Regional Advisory Group for HIV Prevention (CRAG) is coordinating with local Columbus businesses and organizations to host memorial and awareness events for World AIDS Day on December 1, 2007 at the Columbus Topiary Garden, Broad Street United Methodist Church and the Short North. World AIDS Day was first created in 1988 when health ministers worldwide met to discuss a common strategy for dealing with the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Supporters of World AIDS Day are encouraged to prominently wear red ribbons.

Simultaneous festivities will occur in Downtown Columbus and the Short North. A candlelight vigil in memoriam of individuals who have succumbed to AIDS related illnesses will be held at the Columbus Topiary Garden (480 E. Town Street) from 5pm to 7pm followed by a community event, celebrating lives living at the Broad Street United Methodist Church (501 E. Broad Street) from 7:30pm to 9pm.
Names to be read at the vigil may be submitted by calling 614-340-6750.

Meanwhile, businesses in the Short North will be displaying lit candles commemorating World AIDS Day, during the Holiday Hop. Red ribbons will be distributed in front of Take 2 Apparel (668 N.High Street). All are welcome to attend these free of charge events.
