If I had Joni Mitchell's River
« on: December 28, 2006, 12:59:09 am »
"Hello!"

"Hi, how are you doing?"

"Well, if you're calling to invite me to Christmas dinner with you, I've got other plans."

"But Christmas was last weekend."

"I know *insert full name here*,  and if you think for one moment that I was going to cancel any of my plans in order to come with you, you'd be sadly mistaken.  I'd really like to chat more, but I've got something terribly important to tend to at the moment, and I'll call you when it becomes convenient."

So, here I am.  Cup of hot chocolate in hand, spiked with coconut rum, licking my wounds.  What he didn't know is that I cancelled my only Christmas dinner plans in order to spend time with him, only to be rushed out the door the next day so that he could meet his.

The worst part is that he told me why he needed me to leave so quickly...  "I have to prepare the stuffing for Christmas dinner with *wince* my friends."  I came home, Christmas day to the greeting of my roommate and his half-eaten cheesecake, "Merry Un-Christmas" my roommate said.   Is this what I had become?  Suddenly, I recognized my fate... boyfriendless with the comfort of confections to console my lonliness over the holidays.  It seemed that not even haunting the AIDSMEDS community forum could lessen my sadness. :(

Men are scum.

Yes, I AM Supporting You!

Hey Joseph...

I am sorry to hear that the circumstances turned out the way it did. Take care of you, ok?

Hey Guys,

You may not know this but, there is no beach called Sonomabeach, anywhere in Sonoma County.  It was my parents way of saying Son-of-a-bitch without me catching on.  ;D  However comma being the gifted child I was, I caught on right away.  I think we can safely apply the concept and theories to Joseph's "friend."

I like Joni Mitchell's, "Woman of Heart and Mind", with reference to... "Nothing seems to keep you high, Drive your Bargains, Push your Papers, Win your Metals, Fuck your Strangers, Don't it leave you on the empty side."  Obviously, I had a quadruple Latte or spent the holiday alone too.  Have the best day
Michael
