I am from michigan,usa.  Due to my stupidiy,I need to get a test. The county health department is too far from me.   I tried to look up the states adis orgs and no such look looking for a free testing site. What should I goggle so I can find a testing site? Thank you

HIV transmission via unprotected oral sex is a vexed question. But basically it works like this:

Human saliva contains numerous substances that actively inhibit HIV. Receiving an unprotected blowjob from an HIV positive person doesn't place you at risk of infection because there is no viable virus in human saliva. Not even if there is blood or whatever involved.

Performing unprotected oral on an HIV positive male who ejaculates in your mouth is at best a hypothetical risk. Under certain very particular circumstances it could be possible for the virus to be transmitted in this way BUT we are yet to see any documented cases bearing this out. Sure there are anecdotal reports of people who claim they were infected that way but such claims don't rise to the level of sound evidence.

Now science isn't about absolutes. That is simply not how it works. All we can say is that the likelihood of someone getting HIV from performing unprotected oral is so improbable that we need not worry about it in a real world setting. Paradoxically, for this reason many HIV specialists and scientists and operations like the CDC hedge their bets.

So here at AIDSmeds where we deal with ordinary people we like to break the science down into stuff that the bloke in the street can understand. For that reason our focus is on how we know the virus to be transmitted:

Unprotected vaginal and anal sex;
Sharing contaminated injecting equipment such as needles and syringes;
In some cases from HIV positive mother to her unborn or nursing infant.

Wow, that totally makes sense, I got the blow job from this girl who i dated flat out don't trust. And maybe thats why i thought i was at risk. You didn't have a risk. Not one person has ever been infected through getting a blowjob and you won't be the first.

You need to have a certain level of mistrust with ANYONE you have sex with. Too many people only think they're hiv negative (when they're actually  poz) and some people will just lie. You need to assume anyone you have sex with is hiv positive and protect yourself accordingly by using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST SPECIFICALLY OVER A BLOWJOB, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!
