Hi to everybody. I usually check out this site and read as much as I can. I learnt a lot from this site. Thanks for your work. Here is my situation. Last night a go with a sex worker in Thailand. We made love. At the end of the session I realised that the condom slip to the 2 cm down of the head of the penis. After throwing my condom, I realised that there is blood on the condom. And also some blood on the naked part of my penis but the head is clean. Can the blood can contact to the head of the penis when slipping off the condom with napkin. there is no open wound on the naked part. I asked the girl why and she told me that she wasn't expecting the period that night. After the shock I take the lady to her home and come back to the hotel in 1 hour. This is when I had bath. Is it bad to go out with blood for an hour. I read from other posts that there is no risk but I wanted to have a personal confirmation. Do I have to take the girl to the doctor for a test to check her situation. Do I have to go to the test after waiting 4 months. Thanks for your help.

HIV infects through the urethra and potentially through the foreskin on uncircumcised males. Even though the condom may have slipped quite low it still covered the important parts and no test is needed.

Thank you very much 411. In this situation I will not worry for 13 weeks. The important part is urethra and it is covered. The rest is not important.

I am sorry people, I know that there is more important topics to be replied but I needed to ask. Is it the regular situation that when the time passes you start to think the "what if's". Now I am thinking that is there any possibility of the blood to jump into the condom when the condom slips up and then I make it down again. And can it reach the urethra? I fyou help me I will be glad. Am I under high risk, low risk or no risk category. I made my regular std's last month. Do I have to go again after the 3 months? sorry again for disturbing.

You were protected and there is no need to worry.

German, as you yourself have noted getting into the domain of "what ifs" is not a good idea.
The main thing is that the head of your penis remained covered even though the condom slipped somewhat during intercourse. So the point of potential access in such a situation was still protected.
I don't see any need for testing. For future reference, just make sure you are using condoms which fit you properly.
Happily, this is not an HIV situation.

Again me! I hope that these will be my last questions. I forgot to tell you that after taking the girl home, I come back to the hotel and saw blood on the bed. Can it transmit HIV to me when we were on the bed. Can it have a chance to touch my anus. Also is there any recorded event that one got hiv when trying to clean his penis. I am asking because today when I was having bath I saw three big red spots on my penis and lots of red spots on my arm. I didn"t care much about the situation after reading the reviews. They made me so much relaxed but these spots are not the one's that I saw in my life. Maybe soem other std? Can it be?

The answer is no. If the girl was bleeding that bad, why didn't you take her to a hospital?

NO RISK. And no you shouldnt take her to the hospital. Its YOUR health and not her responsibility. Besides, you did NOT have a risk. NO WAY NO HOW.
No amount of what ifs will make us say anything different. If you doubt the advice you are free to test at 6 weeks and again at 13 for conclusive results that cannot be refuted.

Last night I was reading the booklet of Thailand. It writes that "be careful of the STD's and AIDS. Wear condom, preferably two condom from a reputable manufacturer" Is it good to wear two condoms? What makes the difference. Is there any possiblity of the condom to tranmit something inside? Also I want to ask a question: Is there any recorded event that someone who had sex with condom is infected HIV?

NO it is never advised to wear two condoms. Two condoms causes friction and with friction comes condom failure. No one has ever been infected with HIV that has used a condom correctly.
That means, using a condom consistently, use only ONE condom (don't double up), placing the condom on the penis correctly and plenty of water base lube.

As Rod has pointed out to you, that booklet is absolutely wrong in suggesting that you double up on condoms. A single latex condom is very effective at protecting you during intercourse. Use them everytime and you will be well protected against HIV.
As far as your second question, as long as the latex condom is worn properly, and in particular with the head of your penis being covered, then it's going to do the job. It's when a condom is not latex or it tears during intercourse that problems can occur which potentially expose the user.
Use latex consistently and you'll be well "covered."

Well, again me. After having an unlucky event with the sex worker, I said no to the sex workers. 4 days ago I met with a lady on the beach. She didn't look like a Thai girl and also a sex worker. On the evening we go to bar and have some fun. At the end of the night we went to my room. We made love. In the first insertion she told "oh what is this " , I felt the warmth and I pulled myself. It was 2 or 3 seconds. I saw that condom broke and I go to toilet I washed my penis with water. Put a new condom. In the morning when we were talking she told me that she worked as a sex worker but with me it wasn't a business. From this moment I scared a little about the condom breakge. I asked her situation and she told me that she went to the clinic january 20 and she is ok. And also she quoted that " If you have problem come, find and kill me. I care myself as you care yourself." I relaxed a little but last night I had a very bad night sweat and pain in my kidney. Today I wondered and wanted to ask you my situation. I am under risk. Is there any documented infection case same as mine. Thanks for your help.

I also want to ask that can hiv tranmit quickly in my situation. There was semen (the colourless one| on the pipe of my penis.

Your symptoms are not related to HIV. For the two second exposure, I don't believe testing would be needed. Just learn the proper way of using a condom. See the link located at the bottom of any of Ann's posts.

Thank you Rapid rod. I read them before. Sometimes when you hurry things go wrong. This was one of them. So you tell me that no need for a test. In one of the forums here a guy wrote that he got hiv from condom breakage. Today after reading it I got a little panic.

He did not get infected in a 2 second exposure.

I don't recall anyone ever saying they became infected through a condom break being the insertive partner. Where did you see this? I'm willing to bet this person was the receptive partner.
Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus and more so from a woman to a man. It is highly unlikely that you would have become infected from such a brief possible exposure.
You can test for your peace of mind, but I fully expect the result to be negative. You should be testing at least once a year anyway.
Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.
If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Thank you very much Ann. I go to full check up once a year last 5 years. I learned it from you on this site. It was the first time that I made love with a sex worker and she was on her period. This made me bad. And after this event making love with another sex worker which I thought she was a student from malasia, plus breaking a condom (just 2 seconds but very long for me) made me worser. I read that the guy who blamed to the condom made me very bad all day long. Now I feel good. hope my regular annual check on june will turn with negative. Thanks again.

This is my last 15 hours in thailand. I am leaving tomorrow. The thjngs that I lived here is:
1- A protected sex with a sex worker who is in her period. Blood on the condom and little blood on the hairy part. You told that it is no risk.
2- I made sex witha girl and the condom broken in the first insertion and I pulled myself back immediately. People said that no need for a test. In this brief exposure an insertive shouldn't get HIV even if the girl is HIV+.
With your advise I feel no worry about the HIV situation. Am I so relaxed or should a worry little about the things that I lived. I know that I am in holiday and people become relaxed in holidays. Maybe when I go back to my country, living the big city life I will start thinking deeply the things that I lived here. Can I go back to my country with zero worries from here? or do I need a test other than the regular one at the end of 3 months. Do you see no, low or high risks in my intercourses? Your situation is one that suggests you'd be a good candidate for regular sexual health checkups, every 6 months to a year at most. HIV is difficult to transmit but general STDs are picked up much easier and most can be effectively treated, especially when detected early.
Given everything I've read in your post I still don't see any compelling reason to test specifically for HIV, even including that very short incident but I do recommend that regular testing stuff.

Well, my sexual life in my whole life is not very active. Last 4 years I had just one girl friend and we always had protected sex and went to the clinic together for std's. We broke apart and came to thailand to be far away from my home. These two incidents made me bad. What I couldn't tell now is the strange feeling that I had when the condom is broken. I had a burn sense on the head of penis. Its something like there is some acidic environmet inside and burned the head of penis. I hope everybody understands what I meant. It was 5 or 6 second of burn feeling and after washing the head it disappered. That's why I thought of HIV. Is it dangerous?

Yes, I will go but I hope I explain the thing correctly. I am in with condom, condom broke, my penis has a burn sense, I pulled myself back, washed it and no burn . That's not HIV related, am I right?

No the burning has nothing to do with HIV. It does not cause a burning sensation when it infects you or if it comes into contact with you. I would not test over the event you described.

I couldn't find the topic about these:
1- If you have a herpes in the mouth and you kiss a girl, is it a risk?
2- If you shave the hair on your penis and make love with a girl who is on her period, is it a risk? For example the shaved part bleeds during the intercourse! does it have a chance to transmit HIV during the intercourse? Or the small acne that bleeds during the intercourse hasd a chance to transmit HIV?
3- What is the difference between the condom breakage during the first insertion and the the one which happens in the middle of exposure?

Yes you can give some one herpes via orally.
No you are not going to get infected with HIV by shaving yourself, nor if you have acne that bleeds.

No RapidRod, what I mean is the herpes in your mouth is a risk for HIV? İf you kiss a girl, and if the girl is HIV, the herpes in your mouth is a risk or not?

And I got one more question! Is the irritated skin on the naked part of the penis has a risk of receiving HIV? I mean that if you masturbate dry and if your penis is irritated because of this. Next night if you make love, is the irritated part (head is not irritated) can catch HIV? From the blood or from the vaginal fluids?

German, did you take the time and read the transmission topic found in the " Welcome" thread? Apparently not. You don't get HIV from kissing.

Kissing is not a risk for hiv infection, herpes or no herpes. However, you should NOT be kissing someone when you have an active herpes outbreak on your mouth as you will give that person your herpes. Keep your herpes to yourself.
It doesn't matter if you've irritated your penis by masturbating too hard or too much, because you will use a condom when you have intercourse, won't you. Condoms protect against hiv infection. Use them.

Ofcourse I use condom but what I mean is, if the irritated naked part of the penis contacts with the vaginal fluids, is it a risk or not? sometimes the condom slips up.

No, it isn't a risk. It's the head of your penis that needs to be protected. Irritated skin on your penis is no different than fingering with cuts or hangnails, which also isn't a risk. The skin on the shaft of your penis is the same as skin elsewhere on your body.
