Title: Mosquito Bite
Post by: PRCR625 on September 29, 2008, 11:01:10 pm
Good evening,

There was a mosquito flying around our house tonight. It bit me twice on the back and the bites are very large. My husband, who is +, says he did not get
bit.

My question is: if he was bit and did not
realize it and then I was bit, can I be at
risk for transmission? I am -.

I have heard you cannot get HIV from a bug
bite but of course I have to check with the
experts!!

Thank you in advance!!!

No there is absolutely no way you can become infected from a Mosquito bite..even if it did bite your husband.

Mosquito's take blood from a person to feed on..they DO NOT inject blood into an other.

Hugs

PR,

In another post you said you planned on getting educated on hiv. I suggest perhaps a good place for you to start would be with our HIV Transmission Lesson (http://www.aidsmeds.com/articles/Transmission_9960.shtml)

Once you're finished there, you can read some of the other Lessons (http://www.aidsmeds.com/articles/Introduction_4702.shtml). Happy reading!
