For god sakes Chaplin at least DRIVE there... DONT RUN IT! :o
LIFE is not a race to the grave with the intention of arriving safely
in a pretty and well-preserved body, but, rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming--WOW! WHAT A
RIDE!!!

portland is a great city. maybe the most beautiful place in US. The city has a little funk, only an hour from the most beautiful beach on earth, three hours from Bend. Where else can you look out your window and see Mt hood, the Columbia river and mt.st Helen's? Its the fucking 15% state income tax that kills me.

I lived in Portland 1990-1997.  Yes it's a scenic area.  But as Jack mentioned...the income tax is a killer.  In fact housing costs are through the roof (no pun intended.)  I don't know why it costs so much to live there...rents are terribly high.
One other thing...unless it's changed...Oregon's ADAP has a waiting list.  So if anyone relies on ADAP...bypass Oregon.  Seems odd with such a high income tax that they can't adequately fund ADAP.
