Ninja farts, lost libido and erectile dysfunction

Hi everybody:

Well, first at all some of my history.I´m gay 34 years old, in 2010 i was diagnosed with PML (Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy) by HIV, phase IV :\, much for medical negligence and strange symptoms not until i was very, very bad medics thought in hiv (about me.....uhmm i wasn´t sane at all by very, very hard headaches.......anyway), my full recovery lasted three years. In that years i began to practice capoeira as therapy, to recover everything, my physical cordination, my short term memory, my fluent speak, and all my confidence. In that time meanwhile i was recovering all my life i tried to work(i´m java programmer), but a little dirty and disgusting problem began to be evident, my medication(Kaletra+ lamuvudine/zidovudine) give me a umconfortable superpower ............ninja farts( silents but DEADLY FARTS!!!!!!!), able to empty a big room in less of five seconds. I ´ve tried  everything (and everything is everything  ), last was digestive enzymes that have all the enzymes that end with "ase", and no way, they are still here stalking in the shadows......Thanks to them i´ve lost three works, i´ve given up to them before to be fired, for multiple inconvenient situations with my office partners.........That´s the first part, the second is my libido, at first i thought that was on zeros, by my multiple neurological issues, but slowly i began to recognize that was something wrong, i was no libido and no good erections, i went to urologist, later to endocrinologist, and everythig was ok(and still is ok), they sent me  to psychologist and psychiatrist, all of them concluded that i´m fine, and i have no stress or anxiety problems(i practice meditation), but no one gave a real solution more that viagra and cialis(that sometimes doesn´t work)............ Well, now i have some low libido but i miss soooooo much be horny, i hear about my pos friends happy, fucking like rabbits.......... i´ve lost guys(I´m attractive, my body changed a lot with capoeira ) by my erectile problem, since diagnostic and medication i´ve been unable to have an orgasm as top (NO ONE  ) and as bottom sometimes and with the guy that date now. So searching in the net i´ve seen that norvir (ritonavir in kaletra) causes impotence but medics still strugle with that i suffer anxiety problems......sometimes neither in home alone a i can get an orgasm or an erection..........Anyway i decided talk with doctors, but first i wanna 'hear', read from real experts, us the guys and girls that live day by day with the virus and the medication, opinions about medication that doesn´t cause much digestive problems(zero would be absolutely NICE!!!!!) and at same time doesn´t cause loss of libido and/or impotence. Congratulations - I admire your grit building back your health.
Hmm those are 2 tough and disagreeable challenges you are currently facing, however.
I wonder if you are limited to that combo of HAART or perhaps a med switch might help with one or the other - farts and/or ED/libido...

And may not too many users of Kaletra+ lamuvudine/zidovudine either, you may want to ask the 'historical' poosters

Lamimudine is still widely used, going almost unnoticed, this might be the most used of all molecules ...

zidovudine is being phased out (but we still have a few patients, here, who swear by it)

Kaletra is a modern PI with a much better reputation than older PIs

Revisiting combos on a 5 y. basis , in order to benefit from newer molecules seems a decent strategy

You need to talk to your doctor, and if your doctor changes the combo, zidovudine is most likely the one to go

When zidovudine is replaced, thoughj, this is, for the vast majority, with either Abacavir or Tenofovir

I use ABC + 3TC (aka Kivexa) : farting , somewhat, but , your usual fart, not the NINJA fart

On the other hand Tenofovir (usually found in truvada) has a reputation among Ninjas

google Kivexa fart : 829 hits

I have seen better 'scientific' demonstrations, but, this one, you can run yourself ;-)

So, Truvada (or Viread) might not be the best solution for your problem

Alas, for Abacavir (Ziagen), you need to get a HLB*** someting test first, but typically 95 % of patients can take  ABC, so you should be OK

No erectile pb here (because of Kivexa, i.e. ABC + 3TC), no ninja farts

On the other hand, I can testify (and prove the hard way) that statin I take (Crestor) gives me the erectile problem you mention. I solved it by taking only 1/2 pill

Kaletra is almost 15 years old. I would not call it a "modern PI" -- more modern than saquinavir or crixivan yes, but much less modern than reyataz or prezista both of which are still on the NIH recommended first line therapy (less effects on lipid profile).

Thanks guys, i spoke with my medics, we accord that next month i will begin a new scheme, with double atazanavir dose. I hope my problems disappear

Duranavir + ritonavir would seem to be the first line here for a PI.

Hi Guys:

Uhmm finally my medication was changed, they refused to change to atazanavir, ´cause small genetic barrier, and all PI causes digestive issues, despite all my issues neurologically i´m better than ever, no cholesterol issues cd4 in 843 and copies below 20. Finally they decided change meds family. I don´t know if to be happy or not, my medics changed my scheme for Issentress(Raltegravir) and maintained 3tc/azt(lamividine/zidovudine)(I´m not in usa, i´m from Colombia), i don´t have resistance to any medication, this will be my third scheme for issues not asociated to resistance main reason ´cause i read issentress is formulated. I need something that cross blood barrier, i was reading, and yes raltegravir does......but causes insomnia and may cause bad tripping dreams and hallucinations, not counting with waisting and loss of muscular mass. But in general also i read that people much people on issentress don´t have issues at all or minor ones. Some of you  have experience with issentress(raltegravir)? Thanks
