Genotype Mutations- Does anyone know what these specific ones mean?

Hey guys- I have my genotype results back. I'v been on Atripla even before they were in. It showed mutations- my Doctor said they were harmless and that people can often have mutations in there HIV. T Would the fact that I was probably positive years before I was diagnosed cause these mutations, or can they happen quick? Harmless or not- it's still scary seeing them and the fact that there was a total of 6! My greatest fear is resistance and dying of course-

Any help or info would be appreciated.

I, too, am expecting my geno/pheno tests this coming week, so I am looking forward to someone here having some answers on what it means and how to read it also.  Mutations are pretty common, and I am certain long timers here will tell us newbies not to read too much into any of it.  

I can only say that if your doctor wasn't "concerned", I don't want you to panic.  All of this is so new to both of us, that it is easy to quickly misinterpret or read too deeply into what we read and hear.  Seems like I cause myself a panic attack every other day over-researching practically EVERYTHING.  Be careful not to fall into that trap so early on in this.

If I have learned anything over the past week or so here, it is that long term thrivers here ( I prefer to say that instead of survivors as it gives me hope that there LIFE beyond just making it) have said not to get too absorbed in the numbers, as they can confuse and frighten newly diagnosed people like ourselves who have no experience with how all the pieces fit together.  I have been told to build trust with my doctor (as he is one of the best HIV specialists in the country) and learn to develop a healthy sense of faith that it will all be OK.  Try to believe...it is critical for your long term health.  There is NO reason to think you will die if you do what you are told to do and remain faithful to your meds.  I already told you you have too much to live for!

i just went through this myself and hearing the word mutation is definitely a little unnerving, but don't panic. while i'm no expert, let me share with you what i learned from my experience. take a peek at my thread about genotyping in the 'i recently tested pos' posts for my history with this issue. in a thread reply, ann had mentioned that there is a mutation guru (matt) on here.

first of all, hiv mutates. this can be over time without meds or resultant of its desire to escape suppression due to meds. we can also get infected with mutant hiv. its ability to mutate is why it has eluded a definitive cure, to date.

your cut & paste shows no resistance to meds. "no" is a good thing. in short, your hiv should be sensitive to all meds listed, it looks like you're good for atripla and your mutations, like mine, appear pretty insignificant, as your doc already confirmed.

there are definitely some other bad mutations out there that can hinder effective treatment from what i've read, but it doesn't look like you have to worry much about them. definitely take the info from stanford with a grain of salt and discuss any remaining mutation result concerns with your doc again. as i found, that was the only way to get applicable info to my particular case and am okay with that. i totally understand where you're coming from, so ask him/her the questions you need to so that you can be comfortable with the info.

Looks like your genotype has no major mutations in the gene. Also I got my genotype results back in august, and all my results were green = no resistance to any of the meds. So my docotor has done a 2nd viral load and cd4 count last week and i go see him again in jan.. he has me visit him every 3 months. My first blood work was done in july and showed all green genotype, and viral load 21,000 and cd4 count 566 with cd4% 32

Maybe you can ask a LTS or your doctor for confirmation, but I don't think anyone dies anymore because of "resistance". I think the worse one can get is a heavy many drug HAART.   

Correct me please, if I am wrong, LTS's.  Or experts.
