tahir,

I've merged the thread you posting in the Living forum into your original thread here in Am I Infected? - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. It helps us to help you when you keep everything in one thread. It doesn't matter how long it has been since you last posted in your thread or if the subject matter is different.

If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

With the exception of the “Am I Infected?” and “Off Topic” Forums, the AIDSmeds.com Forums are intended for people who have been diagnosed with HIV (or their loved ones/caregivers).  If you are questioning or unaware of your HIV status, please refrain from posting messages or questions in the Forums intended for HIV-positive people.

Please consider yourself warned!

While you are highly unlikely to have become infected with hiv through a single, insertive, unprotected encounter, the only way to know for sure is to TEST at the appropriate time.

However, you are MUCH more likely to have picked up another STI like chlamydia. It often doesn't have any obvious initial symptoms in men and goes unnoticed.

You need to be aware that untreated chlamydia can lead to exactly some of the symptoms you're experiencing. Untreated genital chlamydia infection can cause arthritis that can be accompanied by skin lesions and inflammation of the eye and urethra (Reiter's syndrome).

I am NOT diagnosing you, I'm trying to get you to see that there are other STIs out there that can have long-lasting consequences, other than hiv.

What you need to do is go to a sexual health clinic and get tested for ALL the STIs, not just hiv. As your unprotected encounter was three years ago, your hiv test will be conclusive.
