Hubby's labs UPDATE...My results
« on: December 01, 2006, 07:25:12 pm »
Well it's been 14 months since hubby started meds...For the most part he has not had many side effects from the meds, an occasional sleepless night and groggy mornings. All in all he is coping very well.

I am so thankful for each and every one of you...your advice, wisdom, experience and support has really helped me this past year. I feel truly blessed having this extended family.

I remember in the beginning of this journey, someone told me these meds really kick virus ass, they do!

                          Oct 2005    CD4 192   VL 198,000   %10.7
                          Dec 2006    CD4 380   VL <50        %18

His CD4 & % were slightly lower than 3 months ago, but one thing I have learned in the past 14 months is...not to sweat it.

While we were there, I took which will become my yearly HIV test. I will go get the results in 10-14 days. Fingers crossed!

Hugs to all of you!
Nadine

Nadine,

 ;D  X 1000!

That Vl, the increasing CD4, the climbing %, everything is looking good.  Damn Good!  Especially the news that your hubby is tolerating his regimen fairly well.

About the annual HIV test, assuming safer sex is being practiced, my bet is it will continue to be negative.

The only other thing I would add is a response to this comment:

Quote
His CD4 & % were slightly lower than 3 months ago, but one thing I have learned in the past 14 months is...not to sweat it.

Do you have any idea how far you've come in such a short time?  That statement pretty much sums it up!  I remember when things were a lot different.

You should be proud.  You and hubby should feel pretty darn confident about the future.  Most importantly, your love and commitment to one another, should be a road map, for from what I can tell, will be a long and loving relationship.

I'm happy for both of you.

RAB   ;D

I am like the others and think the love you have for each other is just as much a factor as the meds!

  Great numbers!

Went to the docs today to get my test results.....two words.....non reactive!

That was the best Christmas present we could have asked for. Me & Hubby broke down and cried, hugged our social worker and told him we'd see him in March for Hubby's next appointment.  Then of course we went out for lunch!

I want to thank all of you who held my hand and reassured me via phone calls and Pm's for the past 2 1/2 weeks!  I was trying real hard to remain calm and sensible, but sometimes the fear just got a hold of me and wouldn't let go. I love you all!

My dear friend Rodney, you can say I told you so as much as you want!  :-*

Merry Christmas to my AIDSmeds family...each and every one of you!

Nadine,

I am so happy for you honey!  That is great news.   You are one of my favorite people here, so kind and thoughtful and always upbeat and positive.   I am especially glad your test is 'non reactive'.   YEA!   Congratulations.

   Nadine,

Awesome and since Rodney hasn't yet I will:  I Told You So!!  I am so happy for you.   Once again Nadine I want to say thank you for being so understanding.   Today when we spoke I realised that you and I will be friends for life.   You put a smile on a little girls face today and that smile was priceless!  She has played Barbie all day since the package came...   I have had to color several pictures with her since too..  Nadine I cannot begin to express my gratitude and I am so thankful to call you a friend.   If you and Brian ever come to Florida I have an extra room and would love to meet the both of you.  I will be sending Thomas the turtle to you as soon as the weather warms up, it's a little too cold in the back of those DHL vans this time of year for him to make the trip now.   He is doing well though and he's about the size of a quarter right now.   Make sure you have his home ready for him.   I know you'll make a great parent for the little guy.

Nadine thanks for always being here and thanks for always being so kind to me!

 (((HUGS)))

Aw, Nadine! I'm so pleased for you!

Am I allowed to say "I told you so" too? ;) What a fab way to prepare to go into the new year, able to leave all that fear and trepidation behind in 2006. I'm really happy for you both.

Thanks for sharing the good news - I've been eagerly waiting to hear it!

Hugs for both of you...

Ann
