Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

Oral Sex with Prostitute from street

Please help, I did something very stupid in 1999 I had oral sex preformed from a street prostitute. Without a protection. She used her nails somewat on my penis as she sucked I quickly ended it but the next day my penis did have scratches. I am to afrid to have an hiv test but have been very worried sick since then.

I know it seems crazy and thank you for your response what I can not get out of my head is the scratches on my penis the next day and my fear of her having cut lips.

Just so we're absolutely clear here about this incident. there has never been a documented case of transmission from receiving oral sex.

And scratches notwithstanding we can say with assurance you aren't going to make history by becoming the first.

There's no need for testing nor for further concern about this incident in relation to HIV.

Period.

Thank you much Andy, I will try to quell my fears it i just the scratchs and the thoughts of her lips possiblybleeding but it has been 7 years and my health has been very good no sickness

This is all about thoughts and feelings and nothing based in HIV science. You were not at risk. Get over it, no kidding.

And just make sure you always use a condom for intercourse and you'll be fine as far as HIV is concerned.

You should also as a matter of course do a full STD panel if you are sexually active. That means testing at least once a year and every six months is even better.
