What color are your Atripla?
« on: August 12, 2013, 02:16:04 pm »
I have been taking white Atripla pills for years and have had GERD with them.
Lately I have changed brands and the new ones are coated in a pink film.
When I take the pink coated pills, I don't have GERD.
Just wondered if anyone else has had this issue.

"Atripla" is an orange / pink pill with "123" etched on the pill.

There are generics available in some countries but in the US and most of Europe generics are not available.  Can you ask your pharmacist which company makes the one that your not having problems with and order that one?

The white atrpila are made by Gilead /Patheon in Mississauga Canada.
The pink coated atripla are Gilead/Bristol-Meyers in Ireland and packaged in the Netherlands. Also purchased generic atripla from India which was pink coated but was really strong and hard to get myself going in the mornings.

I just wondered if anyone else has non-generic Atripla that is not coated.
It is odd that I had taken it for two years and never knew it was supposed to have a coating,

Mine are pink, always have been. Sometimes I notice a a bit of the pink coating chipped away but not often, & so they are white coated in pink.

I take the generic from Mylan and it is pink with a number in it (donīt remember it...), also Viraday is pink without inscription on it.  When Iīve been taking Efarirenz and Tonofovir/ Entricitabina in two tablets, the first one was orange and the second blue or white, depending of the brand...
