Extremely nervous please help
« on: March 16, 2014, 02:26:53 pm »
Hello There
I am a 38 year old male and 2 days ago underwent a one time exposure for protected vaginal sex and unprotected BJ with a worker. A couple of hours later it left me petrified and I am extremely nervous about being infected.
I called up the lady and requested if she would like going for a HIV test. she has agreed and is scheduled for an appointment.
Please let me know my chances of being infected considering the outcome of the lady's test result.
Appreciate much needed guidance.
Kind regards
Aman

Getting a BJ is not a risk for HIV . You should not ask a person to to test for HIV because all that matters is your own status . You did not have a risk from getting your dick sucked and if you did have a risk asking someone to test is not the way to go because of window periods and the fact that its borderline harassment to ask that of some one .

Bottom line is the only way to know if you are infected with HIV is for YOU to test and not by some else results .

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Although you did not have a risk and do not need to test for this specific incident , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Fire,

2 days ago underwent a one time exposure

You did NOT have an "exposure" to hiv. Getting a blowjob isn't a risk and neither is protected intercourse. You did all you needed to do in order to protect yourself against hiv - you used a condom for intercourse.

Leave the woman alone. Her results will tell you absolutely NOTHING about your own hiv status. Her results will mean nothing to you anyway as you did NOT have an hiv risk with her. Her hiv status is NONE of your business.

Dear Jeff and Ann
Thanks for your valued comments. I would leave the lady alone. But I still fear and need to clear the doubts from my mind and have a normal state of mind.
Please advise me how early do I go for the HIV test.
Kindest regards
Aman

Aman,

YOU DID NOT HAVE A RISK FOR HIV INFECTION. This means you can test at any time for a conclusive result.

When there has been a risk (YOU DID NOT HAVE A RISK), the earliest one should test is at six weeks. The vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by six weeks, with the average time to seroconversion being only 22 days. A six week negative must be confirmed at the three month point, but is highly unlikely to change.

Hi Jeff, RapidRod, Ann,
I am within deep fear and worry. Feeling terribly shameful and could nt get over it.
I am staring at the prospect of broken family , marriage and end to a lucrative career if my worst fear is to come true. Requesting you to please let me know if there are any drugs which could be helpful at this stage.
A bit of help will go a long way. Many thanks in advance.
Kindest regards
Aman

Aman,

YOU DID NOT HAVE A RISK OF HIV INFECTION.  If you are unable to accept that you had NO RISK, please consult a mental health professional to help you overcome your fears.

Fire,

You do not need drugs for a NO RISK SITUATION.

You got a NO HIV RISK blowjob. Get over it and cut the drama.
