Two questions - Hospital care for STI & HIV risk for oral if giver is infected

Hello everyone. I would like some "real life" feedback on hospitals as well as sexual risk.

Here is my scenario: I went to a prostitute and received oral sex uncovered from her (blowjob), no rimming from her. In return, I gave her oral sex in a 69 - rimmed her vagina and part of her anus outside. We did not have intercourse.

My question is: If she has oral gonorrhea, do I still risk getting HIV from her? I assume every prostitute has a host of diseases and this was my mistake by far by not using a condom but I am afraid she may have given me gonorrhea through oral sex on me. I am wondering if she can also give me HIV through this method since she may have given me gonorrhea. It has been 24 hours now since this activity. As of now, there is no burning during urination or discharge but incubation time is 1-15 days and I just want to be prepared. I understand oral risk of HIV is low as this question has been asked over and over again but I am wondering about the risk with another STI present in the person giving the oral sex.

Second question: If I do have gonorrhea, I would like to get the injection for treatment. I went to my doctor today and got azithromycin pills to attack this bacteria but I have heard it may not work well. Therefore, from your experiences, can I simply walk into a hospital and just get the shot there in the ER? I do have health insurance. I am not sure if hospitals are equipped to handle STIs like a specialty clinic. I have not yet started on the medication but if I feel any inflammation of the urethra or burning sensation or discharge, I will use those pills. Will those pills be effective? I would like first hand knowledge from someone who knows about this rather than just a doctor who prescribes rather than practices or sees/shares with his friends.

You can not get HIV through saliva. Your unprotected oral sex was not a risk.

And shockingly enough, most sex workers are not carrying a "host of diseases." You are more likely to get an STD through someone you "trust" than from a sex worker. Sex workers generally get themselves checked out regularly, to protect their health and livelihood.

This is not an HIV situation at all.

Your prejudicial remarks about sex workers have already been answered by JK.

Nothing you have reported of your activities would have put you at risk for HIV.

I just want to add that other STDs are much easier to acquire than HIV. We advise anyone who is sexually active to regularly have a full STD panel done. That means at least once a year and more frequently should there be any troubling symptoms.

As far as HIV is concerned there is no need for testing at this time. As long as you consistently use condoms for vaginal and anal intercourse you will be well protected against the sexual transmission of HIV.
