4 Firefighters Shot, 2 Killed Responding To Fire

I don't know how to discuss these things, without discussing gun control.  But, here's the latest gun news.  Well, there have been many shootings and murders in the last week.  Perhaps besides discussing gun control, we post every shooting from our cities, and keep a running total.

Terrible news.... Teddy, no Xanax on Christmas eve.  Santa will scratch you off his delivery list and tell Rudolph to drop a load on your roof if you pop one bar.

I'm sure there's at least one a day here.

That said, do you have mobile meth labs at your local Walmart like we do?

Arm all firemen!

Also, heavy-assed Kevlar vests!

I watched Bowling for Columbine again last night. Still incredibly relevant, even more so a decade later.

My partner, Brian, already responded to a fire run today.  He is especially troubled by this.  He's been to two fire scenes in the past, where they've had to wait for police before beginning to put out the fire, due to unstable people who started the fires.

Don't worry.  1mg of Xanax today.  But, I would have needed that anyway.  In all seriousness, experiencing a murder/suicide as a kid has made me very concerned by these stories.  I still have nightmares over that.  From what the family remembers from 1983, that man was deeply troubled and his father gave him the gun anyway.  Perhaps that explains my criticism of people who let others, especially unstable people, have access to their guns.

When my brother worked as an EMT on an ambulance he was working trying desperately to save a gun shot victim when he looked up to see a guy 5 foot away with the same gun used on the dieing man pointed at him . The guy told him that he didn't shoot the son of bitch to have you save him . It scared the crap out of my brother and sadly the victim died of his wounds despite the police got the guy with the gun away from him within seconds .
