TRAVEL
« on: February 21, 2010, 06:02:18 pm »
hello ladies, I have not been on here for a while now due to the nature of my job.  But anyway, I intend to travel out of the country and have been putting my trip on hold for a while due to the fact that i am kinda scared that I may end up not having enough medication on me.  I would love to travel out of the country to visit my family I have not seen in 10 years.  Is there any place I can get free extra pills for back up as I travel?  I am on Atripla and its been working really great fro me so far.  I asked my case worker once when i was in his office and he looked but there were no extra's out there.

thanks

Hi Kitty. Because you live in the States, the only way you're going to find "free" Atripla is if you can contact someone who switched from Atripla to another combo and has left-over Atripla. I suggest you post in the Living forum and ask if anyone has switched combos and still has their left-over Atripla lying around.

The only other way I can think of to get some extra is to see if can't start filling your prescriptions a bit early and slowly saving up a surplus. It's always a good idea to have a surplus anyway.

Good luck!

Ann

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

You're welcome, Kitty. It's not so much that you posted in the wrong forum, it's just that men can't reply here and you'll get more responses in Living as there are far more men on the forums than women.

Good luck!
