One off the coolest things about our recently completed AMG was that when Mark, Ernie, Curtis and I finished the climb down from whatever highest point we got to on Mt. Rainier Ernie initiated a little ceremony where, after quite an accomplishment we all leaped in the air and hugged and said: "F**K AIDS!!!"

It was wonderfully fun, therapeutic and quite manly I must say! ;)

I can just imagine what you've described. The complete piercing of the air with your liberated shouts.
I hiked up one side of Mt. St. Helen's -- in the late-90's and post-volcanic destruction.

Isn't it incredible how beautiful and intensely quiet that whole region is?
I loved the serenity and hope to visit there again.

Wow what an amazing post.  Thank you Jody for sharing that special moment with all of us.  I was thinking we should have made Mt. Rainier a day trip for the entire group (sort of like the pyramids in Mexico), now you've convinced me we certainly should have.

By jumping in the air and yelling f**k aids, you four were "defying gravity"

Dang I wish we could have all been there.
