New Here....
« on: April 24, 2009, 10:11:51 pm »
Hello everyone!
I found out I was HIV+ when I got pregnant and had my routine tests done. WOW what a blow that was. I got on meds (was SO sick) had a healthy HIV- baby girl and then when she was 2 months old found out I was pregnant again that time I had a healthy HIV- boy they are my blessings in this HIV battle!!!
I have now been + for 11 years and just started Atripla last week. I had been on meds for pregnancy and for my hysterectomy but now its for life! I am still struggling right now with the the side effects and the inconvenience of taking it but IF the side effects go away I will be just fine.
I am married to a wonderful man he has stuck by me through it all. He is HIV- I pray he stays that way if he got HIV I'm not sure I could live with the guilt.
I am planning on going to a ladies retreat end of next month hoping to make lots of Friends. I dint really have anyone to share my fears with so I look forward to getting to know everyone on here I could really use some girl Friends that know my big secret.

Hey Idahogirl,

Welcome to our family.  I've been diagnosed for 20 years, been through many ups and downs (I was diagnosed with Aids in 1994).  I have one child, actually she's a grown adult (24) and two grandchildren plus one on the way.  I just finished up a four year degree in school, with graduation coming early May.  So, it is possible to live a "normal" life while living with HIV.  Anyway, if there's anything you'd like to ask us, or tell us, we're here.  The ladies here are really wonderful.  And please join us in the ladie's thread (if you haven't already).  It's where we talk about our daily lives, struggles, little triumphs etc. and support each other.

Glad you found us!
  Luv,
Betty
