Bisexual Georgia Teen Kicked Out By Parents Gets Amazing Response From Strangers

Sobering story. Nice, life-affirming followup.

Also this is another of the continuing trend of people having crappy experiences and then social media and fundraising stepping in to help...

(A little detail perplexes me though -- how did his step-mom managed to empty his savings account? He's 18. A bank would hand over money to someone else? Seems a bit odd...) (Followup - ok on huffingtonpost it says they are "custodial accounts".  Also one commenter made the smart suggestion he report it to the police as theft!.")

If it was either a joint or custodial (college savings comes to mind) either party could empty it.

It makes me wonder whether they would have rallied around him, if he murdered someone in cold blood.  But, liking guys was just too much for them.  ::)  I will never understand how parents could do this.  Being upset is one thing; but kicking your child out into the cold is evil, IMHO.

Sorry to say, but according to the few comments on the backstory, yeah, evangelical christians are reported to be involved....  duh.

When I asked my older sister about her GAY grandson  she said
she would kick his ass out the door and would not put up with that kind of
shit if it were her son  :o
Needless to say my relationship with her has dwindled  , Her husband
has been more humanistic because the guy is his blood   >:(
So after 30 years of being treated like a non person the husband now gets the
fact GAY is what it is . After all his grandson is a special   person to him .
Yes they live in suburban Fairfield County ....
Does not matter where people live , some are just living under rocks .

                                                                 Weasel

    P.S. I'm thrilled to have GAY & Lesbian  Nieces & Nephews  :)
They will be thrilled when I kick the bucket .
