Title: Effect of Modafinil on Prezista/norvir
Post by: stoplookingatme on May 30, 2013, 10:13:15 pm
Modafinil induces CYP3A4/5, while Norvir inhibits it, and it needs to be inhibited for 800mg Prezista to succeed. Online drug interaction warnings say the impact is minor, but other sites say Modafinil is a potent inducer. What dose of Modafinil is safe, if any? Does it change things if the drugs are taken 12 hours apart, to avoid concomitant first-pass metabolism? What about Armodafinil?

You find nearly every drug interaction here:

I think that Your Dr. should measure the levels of both drugs, its possible that Your Modafinil levels are too high due to the Ritonavir.
