Woman cancels wedding after finding fiance was porn star
« on: June 19, 2009, 06:39:12 am »
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/5549158/Woman-cancels-wedding-after-finding-fiance-was-porn-star.html

Haylie Hocking, 27, only found out that strapping 30-year-old fitness fanatic Jason Brake made adult films just weeks before the big day.

A friend organising her hen night searched online for a male stripper and spotted Jason with a woman in a porn movie.

She said: "There was no way I could marry an adult film star."

The pair met last year when Jason became a customer at the garage where Haylie worked.

He told her he was a personal trainer and the couple began dating.

She told a magazine she found he was a romantic, thoughtful and passionate lover and six months after meeting he moved into her flat in Bristol.

Jason, who regularly bought her flowers and jewellery, often went away at weekends, telling her he was training clients in a gym.

After eight months, he proposed and bought her a diamond engagement ring.

But Jason's secret emerged when Haylie's friend Lisa tried to book a stripper for a hen party.

Lisa stumbled across a movie clip in which the male star looked like Jason.

Haylie checked the website - and realised it was Jason.

After he finally admitted he was earning money from making porn, she called off the wedding.

Haylie said: "I don't know if I will ever be able to trust a man again."

Jason said he started making occasional films as a sideline before meeting Haylie.

He said: "The sex side is purely for the camera, but Haylie did not understand I was only acting.

"I am sorry and did not want to hurt her. I still love Haylie and would have stopped doing porn if she had asked me to."

He added that he would be honest with women in future relationships.

I also hate when that happens... especially when it means we're losing a porn star!   ;)

On the bright side, at least Haylie can say she dated a porn star and not just some dude who choked his chicken on the internet. It's about standards.  ;)

One of my best friends is a gay porn star. He has done six films. One called Men in Mallorca. Most of them are made in Germany. You can be a porn star and at the same time a sweet person and a great friend. He is a great porn actor as well.

Some people might find marrying a porn star a feather in their cap, but apparently Haylie didn't feel that way.

I think the issue is less about the profession than the lack of honesty. There are certain things you need to tell someone before you marry them: I've been married before, I have a child, I can't have children, I went to prison, I believe sex is for procreation only, I recently declared bankruptcy... all kind of little details. "I make money by having sex with people, video taping it and selling it all over the world" fits into that category.

My brother-in-law has a twin brother Steve. Steve had told his wife he was 10 years younger than he really was. His wife didn't find out until years into their marriage when she saw my brother-in-law's 50 year birthday cake. "Furious" was the word used to describe her reaction.

I had a room mate in Hawaii, he once wondered what it would be like to get paid for sex and I reminded room mate that many men take us out to dinner and dancing and always get laid,  I thought we were getting paid for sex.

Roomate in Hawaii did sign up to be on call at Islandboy Escorts and through that escort service got a role in a porn film.  My room mate in Hawaii was a total bottom.  In his scene there was a dildo mounted on the steps to the swimming pool.  Meanwhile, next door there was a construction crew installing a roof who had a lot to say about the direction of the film with suggestions.

I rented the movie at Diamond Head Video with friends (I knew the stage name).  It was the most embarasing thing I have ever seen.  ;D  Have the best day

Perhaps so, but you weren't being paid for having public sex - taped and broadcast to the world. That is slightly different.
However if you look at many internet sites these days, quite a few people are happy to broadcast themselves having sex for free . I think the pornstar profession is in some trouble due to all the amateurs. At least I read in the advocate a few months ago that was the case.

too many people are freaking exhibitionists, especially virtually but also literally.

I was asking my college age students about growing up with all that easy internet access to porn images.  I reminded them that in my time, it was very rare and exciting to see a pornographic image as a boy or young adolescent. They said, they never thought much about it as prepubescents, and then just took it in stride...

Some people would be proud, or neutral, or ashamed to have a pornstar lover. Whatever floats your boat I guess.  Its a job, someone's got to do it.

Years ago I had an affair with a young man who became huge star in the US gay porn industry.  He has "moxie" to spare!!

At 25 I might not have been thrilled with revealing his occupation to friends and family.  Now I guess who the F cares what others think.   Now he's freaking rich, and gorgeous as ever, and probably still good in the sack, smart and professional.

The other day I happened on a list of dead porn stars, and quite a few of the stars I fantasized about in the 80s and 90s were dead of AIDS.  It was sobering.

Sometimes I look at vintage porn and see some of these disappeared guys and look at their bodies and faces to see if they are wasting.

Sometimes when I look at bareback porn now-a-days, I wonder who is poz and who isn't, and what kind of sero-sorting is going on.  I'm all for HIV+ porn stars doing bareback porn, but the twinkie bareback stuff - makes me think too much, not just fantasize.

There has been a new rash of HIV seroconversions in the straight california-based porn industry.   But maybe statistically its a minor problem considering all the sex that the actors have, and the regular testing.

One of the key issues in "porn" as a profession is (as with sex workers) - is the person voluntarily doing it and more or less content, or is it a job that results from some regrettable negative life situation or experience?

About revealing all the skeletons before committment - I have mixed feelings.  If I really ran through a list of all possibly objectionable actions in my life - would I have ever had several long term relationships???  But, mine were with people who didn't give a fuck about all those actions, so I could just be honest.
