I generally get my prescriptions through mail-order and the idiot that wrote my prescription wrote it for a 30 day supply instead of a 90-day supply.  I stuck a note on my prescription asking them to get the okay from the doctor to fill it for a 90-day supply (which most mail order pharmacies will do on request) and the doctor's office is so slow in responding that I'll run out of meds before they get here.  So I had to call my doctor today and tell them to call in a 14-day supply to a local pharmacy and I'll likely have to jump through hoops to get an override from the insurance company to pay for it.

You really have to wonder where the doctor's head is when you tell him as he's going to enter the prescriptions to write them for a 90-day supply and they write your antidepressant for a 90-day supply with a year's worth of refills and writes your HIV meds for a 30-day supply with NO refills (as if I actually see him every month)!

Now that I got that off my chest.  I hope everyone had a great labor day weekend!

I have had something like that happen before, where the doc wrote the script for the wrong med, or even forgot to write the script altogether.  I agree though, if he is writing one script for 90 days, you'd think he would do the same for the HIV meds as well!

Sometimes you just gotta promote your own "customer service" while at the doc's in order to make sure things are done right.

Hi there !

Never had a problem with the doctor's prescriptions, but I did have some problems, with inaccurate pill counts in the bottle(from Walgreen's)...So, I always make sure the correct number of pills are in each bottle. Their usually pretty fast at correcting it, and fortunately, I haven't had that problem happen again.
