I met an Alpaca today!
« on: January 08, 2007, 07:54:14 pm »
Today, my Mom and I went to the PA State Farm show, and I met an alpaca! There were a few of them there, and the owner had one of them out for people to meet. She was cream colored, huge eyes, and her fur was incredibly soft. Like cashmere, but softer.

I had no idea their fur was so soft. I thought it was courser, and thicker than what it was.

I came home and told my husband that an alpaca was now added to my wish list! Great Dane, goats, alpaca...

Jan, I see why you love them!

Hi Christine

I'm glad you got to see one and touch one they are so beautiful aren't they...their coat (or blanket as they call it) is much sought after by spinners and knitters, it's warm  and really soft to the touch...I hope Hubby is listening to you.

Edited to say..I would have got in before you Tim but I was called away in the middle of my post.. :D
