Risk to Bottom for Reused condom
« on: January 12, 2014, 10:10:15 am »
Thank you for this valuable forum.
A week ago, I visited a sauna looking to be the receptive partner in anal sex.  A top came into my room, placed a condom on his penis, and thrust inside me a few times until I asked him stop.  Thinking about it afterwards, I am concerned he may have reused a condom from an earlier encounter, as when I watched him in the mirror, the condom did not appear to be rolled up.
As I have only had anal sex a few times, I am now terrified and am suffering from a lot of anxiety, unable to sleep, wishing I had never taken this step. I read elsewhere that HIV weakens very quickly outside body and this action is probably not a great risk for HIV transmission.  Could yould please help me understand.

The sex you had was protected so you did not have a risk . It doubtful that he reused a condom on you but the truth is that HIV is so very fragile it would not have mattered as long as it was intact ... and it was you would have noticed if it wasn't .

HIV becomes instantly damaged and rendered unable to infect when it leaves the confine of the human body and that is why no has ever been infected from a used condom or HIV on environmental surfaces like door handles or counter tops . HIV is sexually acquired from unprotected vaginal and and anal sex so as long as you are using condoms for these activity's you will be OK .

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Although you do not need to test over this incident , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thank you for your response.  I have been so anxious now for 12 days that I can hardly function.  I had an HIV blood test at my doctor's office, which came back negative, but I guess it is too early.

I now know that the top lubed my hole with a lubricant that was not water-based.  Does this have any impact?  Or as long as the condom didn't break, I should be okay if he didn't cum.

Also, for clarification, do I understand you correctly that no one has ever caught HIV from a reused condom?  I am terrified because I was the bottom.  I looked at the condom in the wastebasket after he left the room and it appeared intact.  Surely I'd have seen a tear.

Anything you or your colleagues could say to calm me would be appreciated.

HIV is instantly damaged when exposed to condition's outside the human body and poses no risk . This is why sex toys and condoms in your situation do not remain infectious .

Using a non water based lube can lead to condom failure but as long as the condom was intact you did not have a risk, the condom did not fail in your situation so you are OK .

You are worrying over a no risk situation .

Jeff,
Thank you for this swift reply during my time of panic.

Just one more question, please.  Would it matter if the re-used condom was inverted?

I'm not sure if he fucked me with the side that had been inside the previous bottom, or it was inverted to the side that might have had his ejaculate.  I hope this makes sense.

Roland,

YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!!!

I'll say it in another way:

Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is primarily transmitted INSIDE the human body, as in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse where the virus never leaves the confines of the two bodies.

Once outside the body, small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage the virus and render it unable to infect.
For this reason, a used condom, even one that has been inverted, will NOT have any viable and able-to-infect virus on it.

You did NOT have a risk for hiv infection. If you cannot bring yourself to believe us that you had NO RISK, go test and collect your inevitable negative result. As a sexually active adult you should be having a FULL sexual health check up at least once a year anyway.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!!!

By the way, do NOT apply for another new account like you did earlier today. If you do that again, you will be permanently banned. If you have further questions you'll have to take out a subscription like everyone else. Please consider yourself warned!!!

I also warn you against buying a subscription to continue asking questions about you no risk situation because we have already addressed your concern and buying a subscription to rehash this incident will not get you anywhere either .

There is a wealth of information on this site for you to find answers to any other questions you may have .
