I fingered a very high risk female with a fresh cut around 6 mm long. The cut was not bleeding. There was no oral, vaginal or anal sex. This was the only time in my life when I got involved in such a situation. Following the encounter, I had the following tests done.
4 Week rapid finger prick test- Negative
5 Week Blood test - Negative
6 week rapid finger prick test - Negative
8 weeks blood test - Negative
10 weeks Oral Swab Test - Negative
81 Days HIV 1/o/2 Abs ICMA Antibody test - Negative
However, Since the window period is 3 months, I decided to get another test after 15 weeks to leave this episode behind forever. So I got tested again at 15th week. However, its been over 3-4 days and I havent received the results. Its very unsual because I always got results the next day before. I am terrified out of my mind. I am scared that the test might be positive and the lab might be doing additional testing. Can anyone tell me what might be going on? Whats the likelihood of me turning out to be positive after so many negative tests?

Fingering, cuts or no cuts, has NEVER been documented to facilitate HIV transmission.
It is a NO RISK activity. At NO TIME was there ANY RISK to you.
You have tested SIX times unnecessarily.

The doctors and experts told me fingering with cut, abrasion, hangnail and nick
Is zero risk even with fresh and bleeding cut had no documented case

Thanks for replies everyone. Jkinatl21, Can you please tell me how is fingering not a risk for HIV transmission? A fresh cut can give access to bloodstream and it would seem that HIV transmission can occur. Are there certain factors that make fingering a no risk activity?

A cut on the finger has formed a seal to prevent blood loss and facilitate healing as soon as active blood stops flowing. This barrier is more than effective against pathogens, including HIV.
Even if a cut is fresh, blood pressure keeps pushing blood and foreign particles OUT of the body. In order to overcome that barrier, one would have to have a serious wound indeed. You would not be fingering someone with that digit - you would be looking for the other half of it.
Even if you managed to jam your amputated stump into a woman's vagina, the fluids are encounter close to the opening are produced by the Bartholin Glands, ducts that produce lubricating fluid close to the entrance of the vagina. These fluids are NOT infectious.
The vaginal fluids that can be infectious are thicker fluids located nearer to the cervix, unlikely to be located by a finger.
No one has ever been documented as having gotten HIV through fingering, and you will not be the first. The science more than supports that, the statistics support it.
No risk.

The reason I am really worried is because of my lab results. They always came back in 24 hours. But its been over 3 days and they arent in yet. It makes me wonder whats going on.

I cannot speculate on other sites, other people, and other sources of information. Sadly, some people still spout safer sex information form the 1980s. This site most assuredly does not.

Labs run on their own (irregular) timetables. Sometimes results come back late. Sometimes they come back early. The nature of the result has nothing to do with that.
But because of your HIV jitters you are unfortunately busily misinterpreting everything that happens or doesn't happen as confirmation of your worst fears.
All to no good purpose. We expect you to get a negative result when you (finally) get it. Really.

Thanks for your responses Andy and jkinatl2! Andy, you were right. I got my result today late evening and it turned out to be negative. There might be other people in my situations so I would like to share the reason behind the late result. The provider who ordered the test for me sent it to a different lab this time. Also, the lab was really busy for a past couple of days. That caused my result to be delayed. Since my 15 week HIV test is negative, I will move on. However, this incident has generated a strong desire for me to do something about HIV. I did some research and found that HIV research's dont get adequate funding. So, I am going to start some serious campaign's to raise fund's. I was calculating today that even if one fourth of the population of the US, can donate just $10 a year, $750 million a year can be raised. Ofcourse things are not that simple, but if enough number of people can at least start talking about it, it will put pressure on senators and congressmen which will definitely be good. I am naive in this field so please let me know how can I help. I am going to start donating and tell all my family and friends to do the same. P

It's always good to hear about a negative test result. Now get on with your life.
As far as helping out you can always contact any AIDS service organization in your area and see what kind of help they can use.
