Boy, did I cry..
« on: September 08, 2009, 11:58:31 am »
Don't, repeat, DO NOT rent "The Kite Runner" to entertain friends if you don't want to embarrass yourself by breaking down into tears..

I am on business now in Beijing and after dinner took two colleagues to get foot massages; one of us isn't Chinese so we picked the HBO channel to watch after settling in our little room and having our toes rubbed. "The Kite Runner" was on and at several points between conversations we all had to stop chatting, all trying to hold back tears.

Me, I just started crying at the "for you, I will do it thousand times over" line (for those that have seen the film, you know..).

Great great film.. don't know why/how did I miss it.. now I need the book and DVD..

Hugs, Shaun

 hi shaun.

yeah, it's a great movie and book.  When I was sick with PCP I was living in Fremont at the time.  That's where the author was living when he wrote the book and in the book he makes reference to the city part and the lake.

As I said, I was sick with PCP and my brother drove down to spend some time with us. For his breaks he would go the park and run around the lake.  He had just finished the book and when he realized this was the same park as in the book, well, he just felt a little bit more humbled.

you're right.  IT's a real tear jerker.

Definately get the book. I am always cautious when I like a book and then want to see the movie, but they did a really good job.

One thing you can give and still keep...is your word.

One thing you can't recycle is wasted time.
