awhile back i read somewhere (possibly here in poz news) that cells that were introduced to green tea extract in a test tube and then in turn introduced to the HIV virus, the rate of infection was incredibly low in ALL the test tubes that were introduced to the green tea extract.  so, i thought to my self what could it hurt, and i went out and bought a large bottle of 1000mg green tea extract at BJs Wholesale club.  my self and my partner have been taking them once a day (he is on meds I am not) well, after about 90 days he had his labs done and the cd4 went from 240 to 420  obviously we were happy about that and other then agreeing to keep doin g what hes doing we didnt think much of it.  now i just got by labs back and my cd4's that had been 460 went to 799  now i am really starting to wonder is it just coincidence?  i wasnt even gunna post this but then i thought hell, if the same thing happens for even one other person then it's the right thing to do.
i also should note 2 other important factors about ME: 1 I was drinking regularly and occasionaly using small quantities of cocaine a few months ago (when my cd4s were lower) and now i am not using at all  so i realize that could have something to do with it as well.  (my partner doesent use alcohol or drugs at all and there were no major changes in work sleep or eating habits prior to his up turn)
ps the viral load went down by half as well  (22,000)
any thoughts? comments?

pss. sorry i dont post here much but i do read weekly

Well you do make us work, Jeff. :)   only found i was poz in August, at that time i was also co infected with gonnoreah and stage 2 syphillis. my first labs came back cd4 631 and vl 82,00
it has been 2 months ive been trying to esat better and take vitamins...but i wont lie and i know ya'll wont be judgemental...i DO use cocaine about 3 or 4 times a week but i never binge and i nevr buy more then 20.00 worth. my new numbers were a shock to me

cd4 475  and vl 33,000.

From the post files.  Now, having started green tea and cut back or stopped drugs and alcohol, your viral load is down to 22,000 and cd4's up to 799.  While I am unable to separate out what changes you have made and how each may or may not have contributed to your better situation, you could only sort this out, from my perspective, if you stopped the green tea but kept everything else the same, right?  As for (Pedro?), I don't have enough info. to figure out where he started, how long he has been positive, how long he has been on meds., etc., unless I missed this in past posts.  Best, Win
