Another good reason to wear condoms.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/12/AR2007041201497.html

Drug resistant gonorrhea is running rampant apparently, back when I had it, the doc gave me a bottle of Cipro and it was gone in a matter of days.

But now, thanks to idiots that don't finish their pills, the common STD has turned into a superbug, the CDC is now telling docs not to use Cipro, and to inject the patient with Ceftrioxone, which is a lot more painful, and can provoke a life threatening allergic reaction, but thanks to #1 Carelessness and #2 Stupidity, now everyone that gets this shit is going to have to take the injection to get rid of it.

It bothers me that you usually get one of two kinds of doctor.

Type #1: "Oh, you have the sniffles, here's some ultra powerful antibiotics"

Type #2: "Oh, thats not a bacterial infection, it's viral, just wait it out."

I had a sinus infection that was just getting worse and worse and finally I told her to either culture the damn thing or I was going to find another doctor.

So if one has this new resistant version and is also allergic to penicillin, one is essentially up the creek it seems.
AIDS isn't for sissies.

Hopefully I'll never find out, I've been a little more careful in the last couple years.  :P
