On top of the melanoma carcinoma was found on my leg
« on: April 11, 2008, 02:25:21 pm »
Well, I was at the clinic to have the incision inspected. Healing is slow, but steady.

The doc took me apart and told me to sit down for some more bad news.
My second biopsy from a spot on  my leg came back malignant as well.   :(
The verdict : Bowen's disease or carcinoma in situ...

Yes it was a shock.. no I am not OK.
The only positive point was that the surgery will only be performed early June, which means that the situation is not as bad as it looks.

Being diagnosed with two different forms of skincancer within 2 weeks is scary.

Just wanted to share.

hugs

Yes, very scary. I don't know much about the different ones even though I really should cos they're so common where I'm from.

I'm really sorry to hear this Hermie and you must be in shock. At least it looks like the doctors aren't panicking and know what to do.

Dear Hermie...I'm sorry you got more bad news, but take things one at at time and all will be well...The doctors will stay on top of this and you will beat this.  Stay strong and optimistic as you always are and it will work out.

12 years ago I had 2 basal cell carcinomas removed that left dark scars on my legs quarter size.  Not bad and they never returned.  2 years ago I had Squamous cell carcinoma on my head first one large one removed in surgery. Then several grew and when they were really large and at my wits end Oncology put me in radiation treatment for 8 weeks. I'm bald on top now but they dissapeared  over the next 2 months.

I go in every other month for checkups, have to always wear a hat, no lengthy outdoor activity and sun exposure and have been told they're not "gone". It's amazing how long it can take to get action but once they're treating you it will be thorough and focused.

Good luck, positive thoughts always.

Herman.

I'm sorry to hear this.  It's been a rough year so far for you.  Doesn't chocolate have some therapeutic effect on maladies such as this?  Doesn't it at least reduce your stress levels?  You've got the best chocolate in the world.  As your friend I would advise you to go to your local chololatier and get enough for a fortnight, bid.

I miss you hermie.  Sure wish you were coming to Mexico.  If you can make the ticket, you can share my room, gratis.

robert
