Got bitten wildly during french kissing
« on: November 07, 2011, 02:41:24 pm »
Dear Andy, Ann, RapidRod and jkinatl2,

I have been reading through this forum a lot, educating myself about HIV and AIDS. I admire the help and support you provide through this forum.

I met a girl at a disco bar and we had deep kissing many times when we danced together. I have read in the forum that kissing is a no risk activity. But she bit me wildly on my lips almost every time we kissed. I noticed marks of her teeth on my lips when I got home and there was a cut on my lip (No I did not pick her to my room because I was worried that something worse would happen ;) ).  Earlier that day I had accidentally bitten inner part of my lips myself  while I had some food. May I know whether I had a risky exposure? Could you kindly let me know whether I need to get tested for this particular incident?

Thanks a ton in advance.

Cheer
dvn

dvn,

Not one person has ever been infected through kissing or biting and you will not be the first.

No, you do NOT need to test over this NO RISK incident.

Dear Ann,

Thanks a lot for your quick reply  :).

May I ask you one more question to clear my doubts about kissing. Is kissing a no risk activity even when one or both parties have bleeding gums and there is a possibility of blood to blood contact? I have seen so many conflicting views in internet, but I trust this forum more than anything else. I would like to have a clear knowledge about this.

Cheers
dvn.

If you search around on the net it's a guaranteed thing that you will find material with which to feed your worst fears. And all to no good purpose.

Ann's already told you there has never been a confirmed infection through biting or kissing or any mouth stuff. HIV is a fragile virus. It needs the receptive setting provided by unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse to be transmitted.

Saliva contains over a dozen elements and proteins which very effectively prevent the transmission of viable HIV.

Do yourself a big favor and stop searching the net. You did not have a risk. There's no need for testing.Get on with your life. Really.
