Helo everybody on the forum, after a recent exposure about 4 days ago i have developed all kinds of symptoms.....headache, mild fever, angular stomatitis, nausea & regurgitation & pimpular rash on my lips & cheeks.....
Is it possible that i may be seroconverting this early......i've read on this forum that seroconversion happens at an average of 22 days....but is it possible that serocnversion happens this early & have there been cases when symptoms have occured this early after a possible infection ???

We don't discuss symptoms here because they mean nothing when it comes to diagnosing hiv infection. Symptoms, or even the lack of symptoms, will never reveal your hiv status. Only testing will.
What happened that you consider a risk? Chances are you're worrying over nothing.

I'm a guy of Indian origin, 27 years of age....& this incident involves a 23 year old female sex worker from Russia...
We indulged in foreplay, touching & kissing, after which she performed oral sex on me...(i was the insertive receptive partner)...
Before she performed the Oral, i had put on a condom. After about 5 - 7 minutes of that, i was well endowed & then she put on another condom & continued the Oral sex...Inbetween the rounds of Oral sex....in different positions i fondled various parts of her body, including her groin region....Now, she had a very neat & well maintained Body & even her groin region was clean & dry & there were no signs of her having cumm or any oozzing on her part...( I did not touch her vagina or vaginal opening per se, but all the areas around it which could have had some fluids, if not visible but dried up maybe..what's the risk from this??)
After we were done with the Oral, she took off the condoms & I carried out a manual stimulation of my penis with my hands till i came.....
Now here are the things i'm concerned about.
1. Just after the Oral, & after the condoms were removed i wiped my penis with my t-shirt & had handled my penis for stimulation....Now as i said there were no signs of any vaginal fluids or Blood or any fluid of any kind near her groin area (to the naked eye) when i had touched & felt her....but if there was any....would it have posed a risk when i used the same hand & fingers to stimulate myself & handled my penis????? coz i'm sure my fingers were pretty close to the head of my penis & it's aperture when i had carried out the stimulation.
2. There was certainly her saliva on my hand when i had handled my penis, would that pose a risk of infection.....?????
3. I did not see any blood from her mouth or any on my hands or penis after the incident to the naked eye...but no idea if there were any dried remnants of her vaginal fluids or blood....the room was not very highly lit up..
Now i do not know her status......if she weren't HIV ve+ i know i have nothing to worry...
But if she were, & no female sex worker is gonna tell if she is...atleast before her deal is done......where do you think i stand....???
I never indulge in vaginal or anal sex during my encounters......so all i did this time as well was Oral sex...
My earlier incidents were 8 months before this one & i have tested at the correct time frame for those & have been given a negative result...
Please advise.....

You can relax - nothing you did or had done to you put you at risk for hiv infection.
Getting a blowjob, with or without a condom is not a risk. Saliva is not infectious.
Having vaginal fluid on your hands is also not a risk.
Go see a doctor about your symptoms - whatever is going on has nothing to do with hiv.
Please read through our Welcome Thread (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=220.0) and click on the link to the Transmission Lesson found there so you can learn what is and is not a risk for hiv infection.
You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.
Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.
ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST OVER THIS SPECIFIC INCIDENT, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.
If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Helo Ann, Your response is the breath of fresh air i needed...
The room was not wel lit up, & that's why my vision of the presence of any vaginal fluids or blood would have been blurred out a bit, & that's why i was a bit worried as to whether i could have been opened up to infection when i used my hands to stimulate & masturbate......coz when i did that my fingers were all over my penis & penile opening......
After i reached a climax......she wiped off my penile region with a tissue.....& her hands did some some of her saliva on it from the condom, if that did come in contact with my semen as it was coming out from my penis, could it coz re-infection into me.....( & as i said i'm not sure it had any blood mixed with it, as the room was pretty dimly lit up)
I hope all this doesn't sound too wierd....but it's a leraning process here as well, & if i come out of this .. hopefully i'l be able to use better discretion
& choice of sex partners.....
Also the sudden presentation of symptoms also worried me......along with those symptoms i've also had pain in the eyelids, lack of sleep & hot flashes.......but since you're saying HIV is not likely would you attribute it more to stress???
Please let me know, coz i'd really like to move on & put all this behind me!!!! thanx!!

Yes you can move on and put this behind you, as Ann has already told you, you were not at risk for an HIV infection.
Whatever is causing your other health problems can only be sorted out by talking to your Doctor.

I'd like to thank everybody on this forum who has helpmed with my concerns......Infact it's the presence of symptoms that got me worried & i did go to the Doctor, he said it's too early to test for HIV but has prescribed some basic medication to tide over the problem now....he told me there's nothing specific about the symptoms that would tilt his diagnosis right now to HIV & that if there were any doubts over the incident..i would need to test at 6 weeks & then at 13 weeks to rule out any doubts of that as well....
STI's are also ruled out right ?????

This is an hiv website, not a general STI website. If you have concerns about other STIs, speak to your doctor.
What you brought to us is in no way risky for hiv infection.

Thank you Ann for the analysis........You see all of us are not sometimes aware of the intricacies of HIV transmission so we end up worrying sometimes inspite of not having a risk for it....
But this has indeed been a learning process for me...

Well i was pretty relaxed till about 48 hours ago, i've developed shooting pain in the penile region which comes & goes on & off.....is there any relevance of this to HIV or any other STI ??

Shooting pains in your penis have nothing to do with hiv. Besides, you didn't have a risk for hiv anyway, remember?
If you're having pain in your penis, you'll just have to go to a doctor about it. We cannot diagnose you over the internet - nobody can.
