ATRIPLA and alcohol / party schedule
« on: August 31, 2010, 01:01:15 am »
Hey all,

I'm headed to New Orleans this weekend for Southern Decadence. I've been taking my Atripla between 10PM and midnight. Because I plan on being out late while in the Big Easy, should I take it at the same time and stay up or should I take it after I'm done for the night and ready to go to bed (most likely 2-3AM or so)? Also, I've had a few beers before taking my meds but can anyone share some light on having a big night out (with lots of booze...think Hurricanes and Hand Grenade) and popping the pill?

I'll be there as well.

To be honest, me, if I was on this combo for like more than 6 months I'd have a good night out and take it late, or even skip it, as a vary rare one-off.

The booze is likely to make side effects, eg poor sleep, dreams, worse, but this is very individual.

I have drank beers with mine before - no real difference in side effects - maybe a little more groggy or "hungover" feeling in A.M. - but that is probably more to overdoing it on the alcohol then the an interaction -  I take it same time or within and hour or two of normal time.

Why don't you put it in your pocket and just take it.

I can take Atripla after a few beers, but after margaritas or wine, I tend to spend the whole night tossing and turning, and then end up throwing up a couple of different times. But much like childbirth, I forget the pain and do it all over again the next Friday night. :) Have fun!!

be caution when you take alcohol with your Atripla to avoild liver toxicity.
moderate is fine ,but too much alcoholic consumption can leed  to liver damage, myself i took wine
some time beer but not every day, and immediately i took beer after an hour then
take my meds i began to feel drowsy but then i took something that contain  caffin
to subside it ,my dear we are seeing hell with this meds.
