Am i infected with HIV? Please help me..please anyone?

PLEASE HELP ME!!!I had a protected intercourse with a sex worker.. i even changed the condom twice during the time. What really worries me is the sex worker puts the condom on me.. the first one is ok..but the second one..she took out the 1st condom n put in the 2nd one using the same hand..i am not really sure she wiped her hand or not..i am worried about any vaginal fluid from her hand..can infect my penis..she gave me handjob after the intercourse after wiped her hand.. and also..i had tiny lil cut on my finger..i throw'd the condom after she took it out..again worried about vaginal fluid.. Please help!.. been 28 days since the incident.. i am having slight fever..n headache.. i had protected sex..but chances of getting infected from..while changing condom..or handjob...vaginal fluid?..i had this skin peel right above fingernail..its not really wound.worried..vaginal fluid could infect me? please help!!!

You have NOT had a risk for hiv infection.

Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is primarily transmitted INSIDE the human body, as in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse where the virus never leaves the confines of the two bodies.

Once outside the body, small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage the virus and render it unable to infect. For this reason, you are NOT going to be infected through getting hiv infected fluids on your fingers - your fingers are OUTSIDE the body. The cut on your finger makes no difference.

You did what you needed to do in order to protect yourself from hiv - you used a condom and condoms have been proven to prevent hiv infection.

There have been three long-term studies of couples where one is positive and one is negative. In the couples who used condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, but no barrier for oral activities, not one of the negative partners became infected with hiv. Not one.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST FOR HIV SPECIFICALLY OVER PROTECTED INTERCOURSE, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thats for your prompt reply.. i am like super worried..even thought of suiciding etc cause of this..still thinking of taking hiv blood test.. taking it at 5 week will be ok?

Plus i am getting married next friday...i am worried what if i am infected? the guilty feeling will kill me slowly?

Thinking about suicide over protected intercourse? Sounds more like guilt than anything else, seeing as you are getting married next Friday.

If you legitimately think you have been exposed to HIV, then are you planning to wear condoms with your wife until you test in three months? Because that's the course of action if you are REALLY convinced you have had a risk.

Which, of course, you have not.
