Home Again!
« on: August 12, 2009, 11:03:05 pm »
Back in Louisville tonight.  Delayed posting because I had to do some home "cleanup" from storms while I was in Boston...nothing serious, but a bit time consuming.  All is well now.

Another wonderful AMG and a truly outstanding location and venue.  I had some doubts about that hotel when I first walked up to it, but it quickly became a very favorite place and incredibly convenient for exploring Boston.

Always wonderful to see old friends again and once again to make some new friends as well.  I was one of the last to leave this morning and there still was this "twinge of sadness" at departure.  I am eager to see what we plan for next year... remember it's not so much about the location as it is about the company!  (How's that for a slogan?)

Best wishes to all and hope to "see" you occasionally in the forums.  Before we know it we will be "planning" the next "herding of cats (thanks Willy)" in 2010!

Sorry to hear about coming home to minor storm damage. I still haven't completely unpacked from a one-night trip, let alone cleaning up storm damage!

It was really nice meeting you, and hopefully I'll see you next year!

Paul

Had a few tree limbs in the yard that had to be cut up and bundled and one on the roof that had to be removed, cut up and bundled.  No roof damage thank goodness.  I had the pump fail on my humidifier and there was some water in the basement corner.  Got a replacement pump and new condensate line and everything is now OK.

Really this was quite minor...it just was not what I wanted to see when I came in from the airport.  All is well   now!

hi gary.

It was so good to see you again.  And thanks for Friday morning.  Your words and the way you say them is just so special.  For me at least,  you're able to connect so many of the dots that just sort of leave me hanging.

special hugs for you and sorry I missed you when I left Tuesday.

Glad you made it home safe and sound -- even though you had some work to do.
Thank you for the fantastic job you did at the Memorial -- the whole experience was so moving and stirred such memories for me.  So many people I hadn't thought about in quite some time came flooding into my head.
Also -- thanks again for our Tuesday shopping/walk/talk.  It was so needed.
You are a wonderful man

Hugs,
Mike

Hey Mister

Sorry to hear about the storm damage, hopefully it wasn't anything too major.

I can't thank you enough for the moving and poignant memorial service.  You gave us something very meaningful to hold onto as a memory of our Boston gathering.

Take care and hopefully we'll see each other next year.

My thanks to all of you for your kind comments!  For those that asked, I had very minor but labor intensive storm damage... a few tree limbs (small though...just needed to be cut up), overstuffed gutters, and some yard cleanup.  Last night the air conditioner breathed its last (talk about needing a memorial service) so next week a new air conditioner and furnace get installed.

I am still enjoying the "post AMG" posts...it's like continuing all that "good feeling" from earlier in the week (and much more fulfilling that fretting over the air conditioner!)
