Welcome to Do I Have HIV?

Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

Hi Guys.

Could someone help me with a question? I've read the welcome material on giving a bj but hoped someone could comment on my fact pattern. I gave a guy a bj. He said he was negative and then later said he was positive undetectable. I swallowed his load but the semen was in my mouth only for a second or two and only in the back of my mouth (ie he shot straight into my throat). I have pretty good oral health but had a small canker sore under my tongue. The sore was very small and more in the middle of the bottom part of my tongue meaning Im not even sure any semen would have gotten on it.  It seems like the message on here is I have a better shot of winning the lotto than getting infection. Is this true? What is your assessment?

Not an HIV concern. Saliva contains over a dozen different enzymes and proteins that ihibits HIV transmission, even if you have cankers sores or bleed gums.

It's ok to get on with your life. You did not have a risk.

Just keep in mind the only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. As long as condoms are used everytime for those activities properly you will be well protected.

Just to clarify, what you described is RECEPTIVE fellatio, in that you received a penis into your mouth.

INSERTIVE fellatio is when you, well, insert your penis into someone... or in rural areas, something else's mouth.

Regardless, look at my signature line. Pretty much sums up my thoughts on the subject.
