Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

HIV risk from casual encounter

I'm 46 years old gay man in monogamous relationship.

I don't meet someone for casual encounter. But 6days ago it happened. I had an anal intercourse with a guy I just met. There is no kissing, no oral involved. I fingered (no glove) his anus for awhile. He wanted me to stick two fingers then three and continued, maybe 15minutes total. I don't no how much or any damage that I created to his anus. I didn't see any blood or him getting hurt. It wasn't too rough. He wanted me to top him so I put a condom and topped him for awhile. I know condom is a great protection against HIV. But I'm concerned. I'm sure I touched my penis with the same hand I fingered him before putting the condom on. Also I gave him a hand to finish, after he came I played with his penis for a few minutes with my hand with his cum on it. I didn't touch myself with that hand. I washed it off.

Are there any risk that I took in this casual encounter? We cleaned up in the shower immediately after that. I didn't see any sign of STD on him. He also told me he has no STD.

Was touching his penis with his cum on it or was touching my penis after fingering him risky?
Should I get tested for HIV? Or any other STD? As I don't have much experience in casual encounter, I just worried very much.

Now I feel sick physically and emotionally. I have nasal congestion and light-headed. No fever or aches. I don't know if this associate with any of STD or HIV exposure.

Looking and searching in the internet, I'm just getting confused.
Will anyone have any input for me? I really need one…

There was NOT a risk for HIV in any of the situations that you mentioned . You can absolutely put your fear of HIV aside in the situation you described . It wasn't a risk for HIV .

For future reference you need to know that the only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected anal and vaginal intercourse. As long as condoms are always properly used for those activities there is a very effective protection against HIV.

As Jeff has told you, nothing you have reported put you at risk and there is no need for testing nor for further concern on your part about HIV this time.
