High SGOT and SGPT levels
« on: April 25, 2013, 08:28:37 pm »
Hello all,

Just went and had blood work done yesterday and getting some results back.  My SGOT level is 482 and my SGPT is at 207! and my Alkaline Phosphatase is low at 43.

Anyone have these high numbers before?  I'll expecting a call from the doctor I would think.

Those are high.

Have you been exposed to hepatitis, A,B,C?
Have you been vaccinated against A/B?

You should start by being screened for Hep then if those are neg look for other causes.

If your taking any over the counter herbs or supplements you should stop.

Call your doctor, even if you don't get a call from them.

I did speak with doctor today.  He is having stop all other supplements and we are doing more blood work next week.  Hopefully we can figure out what is causing elevated liver levels.

Good news.  Any idea at all what caused it?  Did you do more labs after stopping all supplements?  Some acute infection?  I've known people with mono, for example, say they had high liver labs.  Or, just some fluke thing or lab error?

I have been having weekly blood work.  When my liver valves first spiked we drop everything but Stirbild and my HRT.  The next week my levels drop just out side of high normal  We then added back in vitamins, minerials, and amino acids.  That next week my levels return to normal range.  We then added back in my cialis and levels remain normal.  I had been using a couple peptides that I have not added back in yet.  Not sure if I will.  After talking to some other people it seems It may have been the peptides as they also experienced elevated liver values when using peptides.

As a side note I found out I am not vaccinated for Hep B.  I did the series of three shot over 6 months for Hep A and B back in 2011.  Doctor say that Hep B did not take.   Was not aware that this could happen

Maybe Liver Flukes? Better get checked out, Teddy. ;D

Aware, what were your numbers like when you had the hbv vaccinations that didn't "take"? Sometimes low CD4s can cause this to happen. Are you going to get them done again? You should - and fingers crossed they "take" this time.

When I had the vaccination done in 2011 I was negative so we were not looking at my CD4 count.  When I first tested positive in 1/2013 my CD4 was 220 it jumped to 466 and has been around 380 past few tests.   Dr said we will do the vaccination again once my CD4 count gets higher.  I assume up over the 500 mark.  My next set of blood work is this coming week.  My VR was 85 a month ago and we are hoping I will be UD now.
