A Little Ditty.....
« on: March 08, 2011, 07:57:40 am »
There I was, reaching into my pill box to grab my Welbutrin this morning.  As I reached in, I apparently snapped across another pill and noticed this little bright orange tablet shooting up in the air.  It all happened like slow motion....she twirled and spun like a mini sunshine....only more powerful.  It felt like it took 5 minutes and all that time I was calculating the possible loss to my wallet....cha ching! I watched as this little orange tablet descended into the garbage can, full garbage can, and I heard myself scream.  " Noooooo Prezista!!! COME BACK!!!".  But the echoing of my voice failed to stop the mighty Protease Inhibitor from entering the dark waste land known as......The Garbage Can.  I dug down searching for my PI, every time I saw a little orange glimmer, the movement of the trash made it drop further into oblivion.  Within seconds I was surrounded by garbage all over the floor....finally getting to the bottom....no PI !!!!  Somewhere, amongst this garbage is the treasure I seek.
I proceeded to handle each and every piece of garbage as though inspecting for nuclear material.  Desperately hoping my little Orange friend did not go near the "wet stuff" in the garbage.  If so, it was all over.  I removed an empty yogurt container, looked warily inside of it....whew....empty.
Reinspecting bill and invoices that I had hoped never to see again.....and still no little friend.  Finally, when I was about ti give up hope and figured somehow, the gods of garbage have engulfed my little ray of sunshine, I found her!  She was gently laying in the folds of my over priced TimeWarner Cable bill.  Ahhhhhhh ..... I will be paying that bill early next month.

Must be a day for pill mishaps, this morning as I was swallowing mine got choked and spit some back up, which meant some had started to dissolve. YUCK!!!

LOL that's funny.

My 3 year old is just passing the stage where she likes to throw things away.  My glasses even ended up in the garbage one night because she said she gave me her Mickey Mouse sunshades and I no longer needed them.  They were "old ones" according to her.   When my keys came up missing the other day I immediately knew to look in the garbage can.  Fortunately after weeding through used coffee filters and the previous night's spaghetti, I couldn't find them.   Stupid me, I looked for the damn things for 1 hr before it dawned on me to ask Gia.  Think how stupid I felt when she showed me they were in her little Dora the Explorer pushcar's keyhole.  I had been pasing it in my search the whole time.

Well, we recycle yogurt containers, so no wet yogurt in our trash.
Glad you found it.

I always feel so patriotic when I take them, cause it's almost Red/White and Blue.

Nice lil Ditty Mpos.

But speaking of Pills in the trash can. When I was in the hospital last year they could never get my dosing down correctly, they were always trying to give me my Truvada in the morning (I take it at night). For 2 days they would hand me my Truvada in the morning, when I told them I took it at night they merely threw the pill in the trash can, when I told them it was a $50 pill and why were they throwing it away they told me once a pill left the hospital pharmacy it could not go back, and the patient is not allowed to stockpile or hold on to them. If I could have gotten unhooked from everything I would ahve been over there fishing it out. I'm sure my insurance was billed for those 2 pills they threw away (I need to check on that).
