UNAIDS -" Special Youth Programme "
« on: April 26, 2011, 08:26:04 am »
The Special Youth Programme (SYP) of UNAIDS seeks to recruit young people aged 20-24 years, from developing countries with some programme experience in HIV-related issues for a nine-month remunerated fellowship.

The SYP was established in 2008 and consists of a five-month fellowship at UNAIDS Geneva followed by a four-month fellowship at the UNAIDS country office in the fellow’s country of origin. The objective of the Programme is to help engage young people from developing countries in policy development and programming as well as build their capacity and leadership skills to contribute to the AIDS response. The SYP is part of UNAIDS’ New Generation Leadership Initiative, which aims to create avenues, opportunities and space for emerging young leaders, including those living with HIV, to actively lead the HIV response forward in the scale up towards Universal Access and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

The application deadline is 9 May 2011 and the fellows will start in August 2011. Young people living with HIV are especially encouraged to apply.

With best wishes,

Asa Andersson,
