Hey

A couple of weeks ago i had contact with a 40 year old woman. I fingered her for a many minutes and then took a condom. The woman had tried to put the condom on with her mouth but it was not easy so i did it and touched the head of my penis with where exposed to vaginal fluid. Because i was really scared she took a test a day after our date and she was negative.

Is this an HIV risk ?

You didn't have a risk. Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is primarily transmitted INSIDE the body during unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse where the virus never leaves the confines of the two people's bodies.

When hiv finds itself outside the body, small changes in temperature, and moisture and pH levels all quickly damage the virus and render it unable to infect.

This includes any infected vaginal or seminal fluids you may get on your fingers or hand before touching your penis. You will NOT become infected this way. Not one person ever has and you won't be the first.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST OVER THIS FINGERING AND TOUCHING INCIDENT, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

The woman that i am talking about did a test after +-40 days from our encounter. The test is done @ Europe and was a standard Elisa test. I know you said there was no risk but i hope that tis can set my mind at ease.

It won't matter what her test result is - you did nothing to put yourself at risk for hiv infection.

Hey!!

I went to a festival and at the exit there was a fence. While passing I've injured my arm. It was a scratch I've think was not active bleeding. Maybe the end of the scratch was bleeding because the day after the only thing you could see was a brown dot of 2 mm. So maybe it bleeded a little, i don't know. Because it was the exit i couldn't go back to see that there was blood an that fence.

My question is: Is there a possibility of HIV infection true blood that was on that fence and got into my scratch on my arm?

The answer is absolutely NO!

HIV is a fragile virus. It is not transmitted from environmental surfaces and objects like fences, doorknobs, barbershop nicks and cuts, food, beverages, glasses, utensils and such.

Sexually the only confirmed risks are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. Always use condoms for those activities and you will be well protected.

This time there is no cause for further concern on your part.

Sorry, i mean a Psychologist. English is not my native language... Talking with that person helps for getting to know yourself but not for my anxiety for HIV. I know that there will be a day that i will be back to normal but the road is really difficult.

Look Gert, I can only tell you what Ann has told you. You don't have HIV but you do need to get some mental help. Please keep working with your psychologist. We cannot help you with such things.

I know it sounds silly, especially because ive been here for other things. At my home we where eating some deepfrozen vegtables (we warm it up of course:)) but there was blood on some things. Ive touched it with my hand and it was really blood ( i exam-ed it).

So we where eating some vegetables where was blood on. Is this a risk for me or my family because i noticed it to late and taught it was someting else and did eat it at first.

So my question: Is the eating from the blood on the vegetables a risk? (small amount of blood) The vegetables where deepfrozen and we heated them.

No Gert, consuming blood is not a risk for HIV infection. The freezing and reheating process would have destroyed any HIV present. Your saliva and disgestive system would have destroyed the virus too.

HIV is transmitted via unprotected anal and vaginal sex, through sharing contaminated needles and syringes and, in some cases, from HIV positive mother to her unborn baby.

You're being a bit ridiculous here. Your frozen veg is not tainted with HIV positive blood.

These are issues you should be discussing with your psychologist.

Well, in OUR eyes you ARE being ridiculous. Hiv is a fragile virus. Small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage the virus and render it unable to infect. Hiv is not transmittable when it is outside the human body.
